An integrated access device (IAD) protects overcurrent of a DAA chipset. The IAD periodically detects an on-hook/off-hook state of the DAA chipset, and periodically monitors an OPD state of the DAA chipset upon the condition that the on-hook/off-hook state of the DAA chipset is detected in off-hook state at least twice. The IAD further sets the on-hook/off-hook state of the DAA chipset as on-hook to avoid damage to the DAA chipset caused by overcurrent upon the condition that the OPD state of the DAA chipset indicates the DAA chipset is overcurrent.

Integrated access device and overcurrent protection method

A broadband filter filtering noise over a first conductive wire, a second conductive wire, and a third conductive wire includes a differential-mode filtering circuit connected to both the first conductive wire and the second conductive wire and a common-mode filtering circuit connected to both the first conductive wire and the second conductive wire. The differential-mode filtering circuit includes two inductors and two capacitors for filtering differential-mode noise of different frequencies. The common-mode filtering circuit includes two inductors and six capacitors filtering common-mode noise of different frequencies.

Broadband filter

A key assembly used in an electronic device includes a printed circuit board (PCB) including two optical couplers, a key body and a supporting assembly. The key body is rotatably supported on the PCB and includes a circular disk and a plurality of teeth. The plurality of teeth extend from periphery edge of the circular disk toward the PCB and are spaced apart from each other. The supporting assembly supports the key body on the PCB. When the key body is rotated, the plurality of teeth interact with the two optical couplers to generate one or more control signals to control corresponding one or more operations of the electronic device.

Key assembly used in an electronic device

A modem includes a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) module, a point-to-point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) module, and a network monitor module. The DHCP module automatically establishes a DHCP connection over a communication network, and generates a first notification signal after the DHCP connection is established. The PPPoE module automatically establishes a PPPoE connection over the communication network and automatically configures parameters of an Internet access service over the communication network and generates a second notification signal after the PPPoE connection is established. The network monitor module determines current network properties of the communication network upon receipt of the first notification signal and/or the second notification signal, and selectively configures parameters of the Internet access service and a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service.

Modem and configuration method thereof

A method for stabilizing a connection between an xDSL modem () and a central office () is provided. The method includes detecting whether a signal on a telephone line is a ring signal; setting a ring signal flag if the signal on the telephone line is the ring signal; and maintaining a connection between the xDSL modem and the central office. An xDSL modem using the method is also provided.
