Disclosed is an inexpensive, easy-to-install, highly durable vehicle rear side video monitoring system, which uses a CMOS image pickup device to pick up the image of the scene behind the vehicle, and a high brightness LED to provide sufficient illumination for enabling the CMOS image pickup device to pick up the image clearly.

Vehicle rear side video monitoring system

An accurate positioning system installed in a vehicle is disclosed to include a GPS, a Gyro sensor, a vehicle speedometer, and a controller. When the GPS outputs a next GPS coordinates, the controller calculates a next reference coordinates subject to the azimuth signal outputted from the Gyro sensor and the vehicle speed signal outputted from the vehicle speedometer and calculates the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates, and then assigns the GPS coordinates to be the next accurate coordinates for output when the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates surpasses a reference distance, or assigns the next reference coordinates to be the next accurate coordinates for output when the distance between the next GPS coordinates and the next reference coordinates is smaller than or equal to the reference distance.

Accurate positioning system for a vehicle and its positioning method

An in-vehicle computer system includes a host computer, a mode switch and a backup microprocessor. When the host computer functions ordinarily, the mode switch is in a regular mode as a default, and the host computer uses various graphical interfaces on a display to control the operations of electronic devices implemented in a vehicle. The electronic devices can include a digital versatile disc (DVD) player, an MP3 player and a global positioning system (GPS). When a total failure of the computer occurs, the mode switch is switched to a backup mode, and the host computer is replaced by the backup microprocessor to control a backup graphical processor to extract backup graphical interfaces from a backup storage medium for graphical processing and further presentation on the display. Thus, a driver can continuously control the corresponding electronic devices through the backup graphical interfaces on the display.

In-vehicle computer system

In a vehicle anti-theft system, a vehicle-mounted mainframe downloads a sole identification code, serving as a control identification code, and transfers the sole identification code into a part as a part identification code. The vehicle-mounted mainframe determines if the control identification code is obtained when the vehicle is activated. If yes, the vehicle-mounted mainframe sends a request command to the part to obtain the part identification code. The vehicle-mounted mainframe determines if the part identification code meets with the control identification code. If yes, the vehicle-mounted mainframe produces a normal operation signal to enter a normal operational mode and feedbacks the identification code to the customer service center. The customer service center checks with a database for stolen events. If an event of vehicle stolen is found, subsequent procedures are taken; otherwise, the vehicle-mounted mainframe transfers an abnormal signal to the customer service center for proceeding with subsequent procedures.

Vehicle anti-theft system and method

Disclosed is a beacon-based traffic control system installed in a motor vehicle for receiving a wireless signal from one of a plurality of beacons that arranged in multiple geographic locations, each beacon being defined to have a respective identification code, each beacon having a short-distance wireless transmitter for transmitting a wireless signal for receiving by the beacon-based traffic control system so that when the motor vehicle is moving to a different geographic location, the beacon-based traffic control system fetches the identification code from the wireless signal of the local beacon and searches the memory thereof to find a corresponding action command and then to execute the action command, controlling the operation of the electronic component of the motor vehicle subject to the action command.

A vehicle navigation system with a display correction and the display correction method thereof, which first extracts a current display location and corresponding road links, next extracts a next vehicle location and selects all road links ranging within 25 meters from the next vehicle location to generate a first set of road links, next generates a second set of road links from the first set of road links based on an angle of driving direction generated by the gyroscope, next computes vertical distances from the next vehicle location to the second set of road links and selects a road link with a shortest vertical distance, and sets a projection point of the next vehicle location on the road link with the shortest vertical distance to become a next corrected location and displays the vehicle sign on the display screen at a next display location corresponding to the next corrected location.

A vehicle navigation control system and method in which the system includes a communication bus, a navigation system, a display device, and a vehicle control computer. The navigation system is connected to the communication bus to provide navigation information. The display device displays a human machine interface and one item of prompt information. The vehicle control computer controls vehicle devices of the vehicle by means of the human machine interface displayed on the display device, fetches the navigation information from the navigation system via the communication bus, converts the fetched navigation information into an item of prompt information, and outputs the converted prompt information to the display device for display during display of the human machine interface.

A speedometer includes a function storage device, which has stored therein four conversion functions, a selector, which provides four options corresponding to the four conversion functions in the function storage device, and a microprocessor, which counts pulse signals sent by the sensor device of the motor vehicle to obtain a counted total value, selects the corresponding conversion function from the function storage device corresponding to the option selected through the selector according to the quantity of poles (two, four, eight or sixteen) on the drive shaft of the motor vehicle, and puts the counted total value into the selected conversion function for calculation to obtain a car speed value.

A parking lot reservation system in which each vehicle sends to a remote server through a GPRS module a park reservation request carrying the information of the ID code and current location of the vehicle and specific conditions, and the remote server searches a parking lot database to select the qualified parking lot information subject to the park reservation request and then sends a reservation command to the parking lot computer of the associated parking lot through the Internet to finish the reservation. After success of reservation, the parking lot computer sends a response message indicative of successful reservation to the GPRS module of the vehicle via the remote server.

Disclosed is a vehicle security system, which includes a security controller and a remote controller. The security controller is electrically connected to sensors and alarms, respectively, and has a memory storing an anti-thief alert grade table. The anti-thief alert grade table records at least two alert grades each having a respective sensitivity default value corresponding to each sensor. The sensitivity default value of each alert grade for each sensor defines the critical actuation value of the respective sensor for the respective alert grade. The remote controller has a control button for pressing to control the security controller to enter the desired alert grade of the alert mode.

A system for prompting an on-vehicle wireless communication module in poor communication quality and method thereof, in which the in-car computer starts a wireless communication module to detect the receiving quality thereof and to obtain a detecting signal result during the alert mode of the security controller is set after the ignition switch is switched off, and the in-car computer outputs a voice prompt message when the ignition switch is switched on again if the detecting signal result does not surpass a predetermined receiving quality default value. The in-car computer also stores each poor communication quality location in the electronic map so that a voice prompt message is automatically produced when passing each poor communication quality location on a subsequent occasion.

A vehicle burglar alarm system includes a global position system installed in a vehicle for receiving a satellite signal, and an on-vehicle main unit installed in the vehicle and electrically connected with the global position system, the on-vehicle main unit having a first flag, the first flag having a first status without satellite signal and a second status with satellite signal for indicating satellite receiving status of the global position system, the on-vehicle main unit being to output a relocation signal immediately after changing of the first flag from the first status without satellite signal to the second status with satellite signal during burglar alarming mode.

A wireless vehicle burglar-alarm system formed of an on-board main unit and a wireless communication is disclosed. The on-board main unit obtains the CGI (Cell Global Identity) of a wireless communication base station from its broadcast and stores the CGI in a memory, and sends a re-location signal to the on-board main unit when the storage CGI is changed during an alert mode of the on-board main unit, causing the on-board main unit to start the at least one alarm. The on-board main unit sends an alarm signal to an alarm and drives the wireless communication apparatus to send an alarm message to the car owner wirelessly upon detection of an abnormal condition of the car through a sensor.

An inter-vehicle message disseminating method in which every vehicle carries a blue-tooth device (or 802.11 device) to actively login to or to passively accept a login from the respective blue-tooth device (or 802.11 devices) of other vehicles with a common authorization key to make a wireless connection for mutual transmitting message. When a message provided to one first vehicle, the first vehicle transmits the message to a number of second vehicles through the respective blue-tooth device, and then the second vehicles again transmit the message with their respective blue-tooth devices to another third vehicles. To transmit the message generation to generation repeatedly within these vehicles, forming a virus infectious frame to wirelessly disseminate kinds of message of update, advertising/promoting, searching, rescuing, socializing information to everywhere without geographic limitations.
