A planar antenna, which is operable within the ultra wide bandwidth, includes a dielectric substrate, an elliptical radiating element, a feeding element, and a grounding element. The dielectric substrate has opposite first and second surfaces. The elliptical radiating element is formed on the first surface of the dielectric substrate, and has major and minor axes. The ratio of the major axis to the minor axis is between 1.25 and 1.7. The feeding element is formed on the first surface of the dielectric substrate, and is coupled to the radiating element. The grounding element is formed on the second surface of the dielectric substrate, and is coupled to the feeding element.

Ultra wide bandwidth planar antenna

A planar inverted-F antenna has advantages of easy manufacture, a stable structure and automatic assembly. The antenna is fixed onto a PCB and has a grounding element that is made of conductive material and is plate-shaped, a radiation element formed from a plate-shaped metal plate, a signal link element and at least one supporting leg. The radiation element has a grounding leg that electrically connects with the grounding element. The signal link element electrically connects with the radiation element to a circuit for wireless signal transmission and reception. The at least one supporting leg is downwardly bent from an edge of the radiation element far from the grounding leg and is fixed onto the PCB. The supporting leg and the grounding leg support the radiation element together.

Planar inverted-F antenna

A planar inverted-F antenna includes a ground element, a shorting element, a radiating element, and a feeding element. The shorting element extends upwardly from the ground element. The radiating element is disposed above the ground element, and extends transversely from the shorting element. The radiating element includes a meandering strip and a flat plate. The meandering strip has opposite first and second ends. The first end of the meandering strip is coupled to the shorting element. The flat plate has a connecting side that is connected to the second end of the meandering strip and that has a length different from that of the second end of the meandering strip. The feeding element has a first end that is connected to the radiating element, and a second end that extends through and that is free from electrical contact with the ground element.
