An electrical connector includes an insulating body, a number of conductive terminals, an adapter circuit board and a number of cables. The insulating body includes a mating surface and a receiving slot. Each conductive terminal includes a mating portion protruding into the receiving slot and a tail portion. The conductive terminals includes a number of first signal terminals and a number of second signal terminals. Each tail portion of the first signal terminals includes a connection portion. The adapter circuit board includes a first insertion portion and a second insertion portion. The first insertion portion includes a number of first mating conductive pads in contact with the tail portions of the second signal terminals. The second insertion portion includes a number of second mating conductive pads for mating with a mating electrical connector. A connector assembly having the electrical connector is also disclosed.

Electrical connector and assembly thereof with hybrid connection for conductive terminals

An electrical connector includes a base, a number of first conductive terminals and a number of second conductive terminals. The base includes a mounting surface. Each first conductive terminal includes a first elastic arm. Each second conductive terminal includes a second elastic arm. The first elastic arm and the second elastic arm include a first abutting portion and a second abutting portion, respectively, for abutting against a circuit board. The present disclosure also discloses a connector assembly having the electrical connector. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure reduces a space occupied by the first elastic arm and the second elastic arm by setting extension directions of the first elastic arm and the second elastic arm to be opposite. As a result, it is beneficial to miniaturization of the electrical connector and the connector assembly.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body, a number of first conductive terminals, a number of second conductive terminals, and a number of cables. The first conductive terminals include a number of first signal terminals and a number of first ground terminals. The second conductive terminals include a number of second signal terminals and a number of second ground terminals. The cables include a number of first cables electrically connected with the first signal terminals and a number of second cables electrically connected with the second signal terminals. The first ground terminals and the second ground terminals are connected to each other and are adapted to be electrically connected to a circuit board. With this arrangement, the present disclosure avoids ground return through cables, thereby simplifying the grounding method and improving the stability of signal transmission. An electrical connector, for being mounted on a circuit board, includes a metal shell and a terminal module. The metal shell includes a mounting surface to be matched with the circuit board. The terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals, an insulating block, a ground shielding piece and a number of cables. The conductive terminals include a number of pairs of differential signal terminals, a number of first ground terminals, and a number of second ground terminals. The ground shielding piece connects the first ground terminals and the second ground terminals in series. Each conductive terminal includes a mating elastic arm extending beyond the mounting surface. The mating elastic arm includes a contact portion for pressing against a conductive pad of the circuit board, thereby improving the installation convenience of the electrical connector.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and a metal casing. The electrical connector includes an insulating body and a number of conductive terminals. The insulating body includes a slot. Each conductive terminal includes an abutting portion. The metal casing includes a receiving cavity. When a mating connector is inserted into the receiving cavity and has not yet made contact with the conductive terminals of the electrical connector, a better shielding effect can be achieved. Some of the abutting portions are adapted for electrically connecting with a circuit board, and some of the abutting portions of the conductive terminals are connected with a cable. The metal casing includes a hook portion locking with a lock surface of the circuit board. Therefore, the metal casing can be prevented from detaching from the circuit board in case an external force is applied to pull the cable.
