An optical device according to one embodiment includes: a light-emitting element; first and second lenses optically coupled with the light-emitting element; an optical component provided between the light-emitting element and the second lens, optically coupling each of the light-emitting element and the second lens, and multiplexing input lights; and a base having a lower plate having a plurality of convex mounting surfaces with each of the light-emitting element, the first lens, the second lens, and the optical component being mounted thereon and a side wall with a receptacle being connected thereto.

An optical apparatus includes a light emitting apparatus and a host apparatus. The light emitting apparatus includes a housing extending in a first direction, a light emitting device mounted in the housing, an optical connector including a first optical connection part provided at one end of the housing, and an electrical connector including a first electrical connection part provided at one end of the housing and receiving a voltage to drive the light emitting device. An optical transceiver includes a groove-shaped accommodating portion that extends in a longitudinal direction, the housing being configured to be inserted and removed from a cage of an external device. The optical transceiver includes a movable member attached to the housing and a leaf spring member accommodated in the accommodating portion. The spring member includes a first pressing portion pressing a protrusion toward a first surface of the accommodating portion. The spring member includes and a second pressing portion pressing, in the longitudinal direction, a second surface of the accommodating portion. An end of the spring member toward the first pressing portion is configured to curve away from the first surface of the accommodating portion in the longitudinal direction as a distance from first pressing portion increases.

An optical transceiver includes a circuit board having a first side and a first edge; a thermal conductive member configured to be attached on the first side of the circuit board; the thermal conductive member having a first thermal conductive face inclined with respect to the first side of the circuit board and parallel to the first direction; a filling material having a thermal conductivity; and a housing having an inner face and an inner space, the housing being configured to house the circuit board, the circuit component, the thermal conductive member, and the filling material, and configured to hold the electrical connector at an end thereof in the first direction, the housing having a second thermal conductive face facing the first thermal conductive face with a spacing. The filling material adheres to the first thermal conductive face and the second thermal conductive face.

An optical transceiver according to an embodiment includes a plurality of optical sub-assemblies, a circuit board, an optical receptacle, a WDM module, support member and a housing including the plurality of optical sub-assemblies, the circuit board, the optical receptacle, the WDM module, and the support member. The transmission sleeve and the reception sleeve have respective protrusions coupled to the plurality of first internal fibers in one to one. The housing has holes configured to allow the transmission sleeve and the reception sleeve for being inserted to the housing. The support member has a retaining part configured to retain the protrusions of the transmission sleeve and the reception sleeve for positioning the transmission sleeve and the reception sleeve.

An optical transceiver includes: a first OSA and a second OSA; a circuit board; an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer which includes a plurality of internal fibers, is optically connected to each of the first OSA and the second OSA through each of the internal fibers, and multiplexes the single optical signal to generate an optical transmission signal or demultiplexes an optical reception signal to generate the single optical signal; a receptacle which is optically connected to the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer, transmits the optical transmission signal to the outside, and receives the optical reception signal; and a second holding member which holds the first OSA and the second OSA and is engaged with the circuit board. An optical transceiver includes: a TOSA that converts an electrical signal into an optical signal; an ROSA that converts an optical signal into an electrical signal; a receptacle that houses an external optical connector for transmitting or receiving an optical signal through the external optical connector; an internal fiber that optically connects one of the ROSA and the TOSA to the receptacle; a circuit board that includes a circuit that is electrically connected to the TOSA and the ROSA via an FPC; a holding member that is attached to the circuit board and holds the ROSA and the TOSA; and a housing that houses the TOSA, the ROSA, the receptacle, the internal fiber, the circuit board, and the holding member. The holding member includes a plurality of guides that guide the internal fiber.

Optical transceiver and method of manufacturing the same

An optical transceiver performing the full-duplex transmission in a plural channel is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides an optical receptacle, a semiconductor optical device, an inner fiber that optically couples the optical receptacle with the semiconductor optical device, and a fiber tray that secures an extra length of the inner fiber. The fiber tray provides an inner wall inclined toward a direction perpendicular to a direction along which the inner fiber warps. The inner fiber is set within the space as touching the inclined inner wall and sliding thereon toward the inclined direction.

An optical source that implements a wavelength tunable laser diode (t-LD) and a Mach-Zehnder (MZ) modulator within a single package is disclosed. The optical source, which outputs a modulated signal beam and a local beam of a continuous wave (CW), accompanies a control circuit mounted on several circuit boards. Only one of the circuit boards is rigidly mounted on the housing of the optical source. Rest of the circuit boards is moderately fixed to the housing through the rigidly fixed circuit board to suppress stresses caused in the housing and the circuit boards when the optical source is rigidly installed in the host system.

A pluggable optical transceiver that enhances the heat dissipation function is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides the MPO connector that receives an external MT ferrule, the assembly substrate that installs a semiconductor optical device, a lens block that bends the optical axis of the semiconductor optical device by about 90&#xb0;, the circuit board electrically connected to the assembly substrate, the inner fiber optically couples the MPO connector with the lens block, and the top and bottom housings that installs the MPO connector, the assembly substrate, the circuit board, and the inner fiber therein. The bottom housing mounts the circuit board, while, the assembly substrate is thermally and physically in contact to the top housing through a thermal grease.

Optical transceiver having heat-dissipating path from assembly substrate directly to upper housing

A pluggable optical transceiver is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides a pull-tab assembled with a body of the transceiver. The pull-tab comprises a pair of arms and a handle. The arms in an end portion thereof each provides a leg set in a guide formed in the body. Sliding the pull-tab to disengage the optical transceiver from the cage, the leg is slid within the guide to push the end portion of the arm outwardly. The handle provides in an end thereof a bar including a slope. The optical fiber pulled out from the optical connector set in the optical receptacle of the transceiver rides on the slope even when the transceiver is set in the cage by the upside-down arrangement.

A mechanism for an optical transceiver to latch with and release from a cage is disclosed. The mechanism includes a bail rotatable around an axis and a slider linearly movable between the latching position and the releasing position. The rotation of bail is independent of the liner motion of the slider.

A pluggable optical transceiver with the CFP type and the MT ferrule is disclosed. The optical transceiver provides in a rear of the optical receptacle a mechanism to push frontward the MT ferrule set in the optical receptacle and to shield the inside of the optical transceiver. Inner fibers connecting the MT ferrule with another MT ferrule assembled with optical devices pass the mechanism, which may be a metal plate with the elastic function and/or a coil spring combined with a holder to hold the MT ferrule.

The FPC is soldered with the side electrodes of the OSA as forming a solder fillet in the plane electrode, or the FPC is soldered with the plane electrodes of the OSA as forming the solder fillet in the side electrodes, and leaving a limited room for receiving the curved FPC in peripheries of the OSA.
