A superconducting magnetic assembly has a first superconducting coil for generating a magnetic field in an internal magnetic space in the first superconducting coil, a pair of second superconducting coils one provided at each end of the first superconducting coil for generating a cancelling magnetic field counteracting a leakage magnetic field leaking from the magnetic field in the internal space, and a magnetic shield of a superconducting material surrounding the first superconducting coil so as to be open to the internal space.

In a forced flow cooling-type superconducting coil apparatus including a superconducting coil having superconducting wires inserted into a hollow conduit, current leads for supplying a current to said superconducting coil, and cooling means for cooling said superconducting wires by forcibly flowing the coolant through said hollow conduit, a part of the coolant flowing through said cooling means is branched to cool said current leads.

Forced flow cooling-type superconducting coil apparatus

A superconducting wire comprises a core region of a superconducting material, an outermost region of a normal-conducting material for stabilizing the superconducting material, and at least one intermediate region disposed between the core region and the outermost region. The intermediate region includes layers of the paramagnetic salt for increasing the heat capacity of the wire and layers of a normal-conducting material which are arranged alternatingly in the longitudinal or circumferential direction of the wire.

Superconducting wire and method of producing the same

Disclosed is a superconducting solenoid coil of small size exhibiting a high degree of magnetic field uniformity. Emphasis is placed on the improvement in the magnetic field uniformity in a limited central active space of the coil, and, for this purpose, at least a portion of the cylindrical inner surface of the coil is shaped into a quadric configuration. The radius of curvature of this quadric portion is preferably less than a predetermined value relative to the axial total length of the coil.
