An image forming apparatus including: a sheet container; a sheet conveyer; a sheet detector; and a controller, wherein, in a case where a leading edge of a first sheet is positioned downstream of a first position in a conveyance direction and a trailing edge of a second sheet preceding the first sheet is positioned downstream of a second position located downstream of the first position when the first and second sheets are stopped based on a result of the sheet detector, the controller causes the sheet conveyer to convey the first sheet in the conveyance direction, and in a case where the leading edge of the first sheet is positioned upstream of the first position when the first and second sheets are stopped, the controller causes the sheet conveyer to convey the first sheet in an opposite direction to return the first sheet to the sheet container.

An image forming apparatus includes a first image forming unit configured to form a first image in a chromatic color, a second image forming unit configured to form a second image in black, an intermediate transfer member, a sensor, a first adjustment unit configured to adjust the image forming position for the black based on an adjustment value, a second adjustment unit configured to adjust image forming position based on an adjustment condition, and a generation unit configured to generate the adjustment condition. The generation unit generates a first adjustment condition based on a user instruction relating to a first test image having chromatic color on a sheet input from the input unit. The generation unit generates a second adjustment condition based on the reading result of the second test image having black on a sheet from a reading device.

Image forming apparatus for adjusting position of image formed on sheet

An image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the productivity of image formation from being lowered due to discharge of surplus tabbed sheets in a double-sided printing job in which output sheet bundles are produced by inserting tabbed sheets into each bundle of double-sided printed recording sheets. In a case that output sheet bundles are each produced by setting tabbed sheet bundles each comprised of five tabbed sheets to the image forming apparatus, by inserting one tabbed sheet subsequently to double-sided image formation on five recording sheets, and by performing double-sided image formation on other five recording sheets, four surplus tabbed sheets are discharged subsequently to feeding of the tabbed sheet, instead of discharging the four surplus tabbed sheets after completion of image formation on a second surface of a tenth recording sheet.
