An image-forming method includes forming a toner image on the surface of an image carrier, transferring the toner image from the surface of the image carrier onto an image-receiving layer of a belt-shaped intermediate transfer film that is provided on a surface of a base material, superimposing the intermediate transfer film on a surface of a recording medium such that the toner image contacts the surface of the recording medium, fixing the toner image by application of heat and pressure, forming a laminate by pressure-bonding the superimposed intermediate transfer film onto the recording medium by application of heat and pressure, and peeling the base material off the image-receiving layer at the interface therebetween, so that the entire image-forming surface of the recording medium is covered with the image-receiving layer and the image is formed between the recording medium and the image-receiving layer.

The present invention provides an electrophotographic lamination film which can be easily laminated by using the film as it is without significantly modifying a conventional electrophotographic device, can be printed with letters of high resolution directly on a surface of the film capable of softening at relatively low temperatures, and can form an image of high quality having sufficient heat resistance and light resistance with good recognizability even in outdoor use, as well as a method of producing the same and a method of forming an image. In the electrophotographic lamination film, a surface resistance of at least one surface of a substrate thereof is in a range of 10to 10&#x3a9;/&#x25a1;, and a Vicat softening temperature of the substrate is in a range of 70 to 130&#xb0; C.

The invention provides an electrophotographic laminated film and a method for producing the electrophotographic laminated film. The electrophotographic laminated film comprises a substrate and at least one of a coating layer and a function control means provided on a surface of the substrate. The uppermost layer of the coating layer has a surface resistance in a range of 1.0&#xd7;10to 1.0&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/&#x25a1;. The surface of the substrate preferably comprises at least one of a polycarbonate resin and a polyallylate resin. Electrophotographic transfer paper comprising base paper having provided on at least one side thereof a coating layer mainly comprising a pigment and a binder at a solids content of 2 to 12 g/m , which has an Oken's smoothness of 60 to 300 seconds on each side thereof, an air permeability of 10 to 90 seconds, and a coefficient of paper-to-paper friction of 0.5 to 0.9 at 28&deg; C. and 85% RH. The transfer paper has excellent running properties on a digital full-color copying machine or printer of indirect dry electrophotographic system irrespective of the environment of use, especially in a high humidity environment, while proving a satisfactory image.

Electrophotographic transfer paper having a coating layer provided on at least one surface of base paper and pigments and adhesive agents as main components, wherein resistivity (VR) and surface resistivity (SV) of electrophotographic transfer paper after the humidity has adjusted to 10.degree. C., 30% RH for 12 hours satisfy the expression Log(VR/SR).ltoreq.1.5. Electrophotographic transfer paper and color image forming method

Transfer paper for electrophotography of the present invention includes base paper; and a coating layer provided on at least one side of the base paper. The coating layer includes a pigment and a binder, has a solids content in the range of 2 to 10 g/m.sup.2, and has void-free areas containing no voids having a circle-equivalent diameter of equal to or more than 1 .mu.m and void area containing voids whose circle-equivalent diameter is equal to or more than 1 .mu.m. A proportion of void areas whose equivalent circle diameter is more than 20 .mu.m is not more than 2%, and the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas as observed on the surface of the coating layer satisfy at least one of the following conditions: (1) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas are each from 1.5 to 10 .mu.m; (2) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas and that of the void-free areas are each 0.2 to 1.5 times the volume average particle size of the toner used for image formation; and (3) the average equivalent circle diameter of the void areas is from 1.0 to 10.0 .mu.m and that of the void-free area is from 1.5 to 10 .mu.m.
