A power sunroof for a motor vehicle is disclosed, which comprises a structure for defining a sunroof opening in a roof of the vehicle; a lid sized to close the sunroof opening, the lid being provided around its periphery with a weather strip; a mechanism for permitting the lid to have a tilt-up position, a full-close position, a flap-down position and a full-open position, the tilt-up position being a position wherein the lid is tilted up with respect to the sunroof opening, the full-close position being a position wherein the lid is received in the sunroof opening with the weather strip compressed therebetween, the flap-down position being a position wherein the lid is tilted down with respect to the sunroof opening, and the full-open position being a position wherein the lid gets under the roof fully opening the sunroof opening; an electric drive motor for driving, when energized, the lid to assume the tilt-up, full-close, flap-down and full-open positions by using an electric power; and a controller for controlling the electric drive motor in such a manner that the full-close position of the lid is always achieved by pivoting the lid upward from the flap-down position.

Automotive power sunroof

A front spoiler arrangement installed at the front end section lower part of an automotive vehicle body. The front spoiler arrangement is comprised of a retractable spoiler fin supported by a pair of swingable arms which are spaced from each other and driven respectively by a pair of drive mechanism. Each swingable arm is securely connected at one end section thereof to the spoiler fin and at the other end section thereof to a rotatable drive shaft of each drive mechanism in such a manner that a mount rubber is interposed between the swingable arm and the drive shaft, thereby permitting lateral movement of the swingable arm relative to the drive shaft.

Front spoiler arrangement

Herein disclosed is an air spoiler retracting device which comprises a casing; a reversible electric motor disposed in the casing and having a drive shaft; a carry bar held by the casing and axially movable in parallel with the axis of the drive shaft, the carry bar having one end to which a spoiler proper is connected; a first transmission mechanism including a first gear driven by the drive shaft of the motor and a second gear meshed with the first gear; a second transmission mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the second gear to the axial movement of the carry bar; a pivoting mechanism for permitting a pivotal movement of the carry bar relative to the second transmission mechanism; and a pivoting movement assisting mechanism for assisting the function of the pivoting mechanism, the assisting mechanism including at least one elastomeric member sandwiched between attached two parts.

Air spoiler retracting device

A linear motor comprises a rail; a runner moved along the rail; a plurality of permanent magnets disposed in the rail along the longitudinal direction of the rail so as to alternately arrange the opposite polarities of the permanent magnets; coils disposed in the runner and arranged to oppose the permanent magnets; Hall elements disposed in the coils; and a control unit disposed in the runner and controlling an electric current supplied to the coils based on signals output from the Hall elements.
