An information control device for an electric vehicle including a vehicle-mounted battery that is charged with electric power supplied from a power supply provided at an outside of the vehicle includes a lock operation detector, a remaining power detector, and a notification controller. The lock operation detector is configured to detect a lock operation of a door lock mechanism of the vehicle. The remaining power detector is configured to detect a remaining power amount of the vehicle-mounted battery. The notification controller is configured to control a notifying device to make a notification to the outside of the vehicle. The notification is indicative of information that recommends power charge of the vehicle-mounted battery if the remaining power amount is small when the door lock mechanism has been locked or is to be locked, based on detection results of the lock operation detector and the remaining power detector.

An air-fuel ratio control method for an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio dependent on operating conditions of the engine. When a transmission is being shifted or before a predetermined time period elapses after the shifting, the desired air-fuel ratio is held at a value assumed immediately before the shifting of the transmission. In another form of the invention, when the transmission is being shifted, or when the operating characteristics of at least one set of a set of intake valves and a set of exhaust valves have been not changed before the predetermined time period elapses after the shifting of the transmission, the desired air-fuel ratio is held at a value assumed before the shifting of the transmission.

Air-fuel ratio control method for internal combustion engines

According to an air-fuel ratio control method, an amount of fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine is calculated by the use of an air-fuel ratio correction coefficient set according to an output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. An average value of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient is calculated. When a difference between an actual value of opening of an exhaust gas recirculation control valve and a desired value of same set in response to operating conditions of the engine is larger than a predetermined value, the calculation of the average value of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient is inhibited, or alternatively, an averaging rate in the calculation of the average value is decreased.

An air-fuel ratio feedback control method for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor arranged in the exhaust passage and having output characteristics in approximate proportion to the concentration of an ingredient in exhaust gases from the engine, wherein when the engine is in a predetermined operating condition, the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio dependent on the predetermined operating condition of the engine, and when the engine is in a predetermined deceleration condition, the fuel supply to the engine is cut off. When the engine has shifted from an operating condition other than the predetermined deceleration condition to the predetermined deceleration condition, the desired air-fuel ratio is held at a value assumed immediately before the engine shifts from the operating condition other than the predetermined deceleration condition to the predetermined deceleration condition, for a predetermined time period after the shifting. The feedback control of the air-fuel ratio is started with the held value as an initial value of the desired air-fuel ratio when the engine has shifted to the predetermined operating condition. Preferably, the desired air-fuel ratio is held at a value substantially corresponding to a central value of air-fuel ratio after the predetermined time period has elapsed.

Air-fuel ratio feedback control method for internal combustion engines

A method of feedback-controlling the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine to a desired air-fuel ratio which is set to a value leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, by the use of output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor, depending upon operating conditions of the engine, the desired air-fuel ratio being set to a leaner value as the transmission of the engine is set to a smaller reduction ratio. A reduction ratio to which the transmission has been set is detected. The travelling speed of a vehicle on which the engine is installed is detected. The desired air-fuel ratio is set to a richer value as the travelling speed of the vehicle is lower, insofar as the transmission is set to the same reduction ratio.

An air-fuel ratio control method for an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio depending on operating conditions of the engine in response to output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. The desired air-fuel ratio is settable to a value leaner than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio when the temperature of the engine is above a predetermined reference value. The method comprises the steps of detecting a reduction ratio to which the transmission has been set, and changing the predetermined reference value of the temperature of the engine depending on the detected reduction ratio. The predetermined reference value of the temperature of the engine is set to a lower value as the reduction ratio of the transmission is smaller.

A method of detecting deterioration of an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor for use in controlling an air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having an exhaust system in which the sensor is arranged. The sensor has an output characteristic approximately proportional to concentration of a specific ingredient in exhaust gases emitted from the engine. The air-fuel ratio is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio by calculating an amount of fuel supplied to the engine by the use of a desired air-fuel ratio coefficient indicative of the desired air-fuel ratio and set in dependence on operating conditions of the engine, and an air-fuel ratio correction coefficient set in dependence on a value of an output from the sensor and the desired air-fuel ratio coefficient. A plurality of average values of the air-fuel ratio correction coefficient are calculated, respectively, when the desired air-fuel ratio falls within a plurality of predetermined ranges. The average values thus calculated are compared with each other. A degree of deterioration of the sensor is determined from results of the comparison. Further, a method of feedback-controlling the air-fuel ratio in the above-mentioned manner, in which the value of the output from the sensor is corrected in response to the degree of deterioration thus determined.

Method of detecting deterioration of exhaust gas ingredient

An air-fuel ratio control method for an internal combustion engine, in which the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine is feedback-controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio in response to output from an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. When the engine is in a predetermined accelerating condition, fuel supply to the engine is increased. The rate of correction of the air-fuel ratio of the mixture by the feedback control is set to a smaller value when the engine is in the predetermined accelerating condition, than values to be set when the engine is in other operating conditions.

A fuel supply control system for an internal combustion engine comprises deceleration detecting device for detecting a predetermined decelerating condition of the engine, and fuel supply decreasing device for decreasing the supply of fuel to the engine when the predetermined decelerating condition is detected by the deceleration detecting device. A first counting device starts to count a first predetermined time period when the high-load detecting device detects that the engine has left the predetermined high-load condition. An inhibiting device inhibits the fuel supply decreasing device from operating when the deceleration detecting device detects the predetermined decelerating condition of the engine before the first counting device completes counting the first predetermined time period. A second counting device counts a second predetermined time period while the high-load detecting device is detecting the predetermined high-load condition of the engine. The first counting device starts to count the first predetermined time period when the second counting device has completed counting the second predetermined time period. An intake air increasing device increases the amount of intake air supplied to the engine while the inhibiting device is operating.

Fuel supply control system for internal combustion engines

A method of controlling in a feedback manner the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having a first fuel injection valve and a second fuel injection valve each operating in a different operating region, during operation of the engine in an air-fuel ratio feedback control region, by the use of a coefficient which varies with the output of an exhaust gas ingredient concentration sensor. In a first and a second operating regions within the air-fuel ratio feedback control region in which the first and second fuel injection valves operate, respectively, a first average value and a second average value of values of said coefficient obtained in the respective regions are calculated, and stored, respectively. When the engine has shifted to the first or and second operating regions, a value based on the corresponding first or second average value is used as an initial value of the coefficient to therely start the feedback control. Preferably, in a third operating region defined as a predetermined period of time which elapses after the engine has shifted from the second operating region to the first operating region, a third average value of values of the coefficient obtained in the third operating region is calculated and stored, and when the engine shifted to the third operating region, the third average value is used as an initial value of the coefficient to thereby start the feedback control.

A fuel supply control system for an internal combustion engine having a throttle body, and a fuel injection valve arranged in an intake manifold upstream of the throttle body for supplying fuel to all cylinders. An air throttle valve has a valve body having a notched opening formed therein and disposed to be opposite the nozzle of the fuel injection valve to increase the flow speed of intake air in the vicinity of the nozzle when the air throttle valve is fully closed. An electronic control unit controls the fuel injection valve in response to operating conditions of the engine. The electronic control unit causes the air throttle valve to be fully closed when a predetermined low rotation-speed operating condition of the engine, in which at least the rotational speed of the engine is lower than a predetermined value, is satisfied. The predetermined value of the rotational speed of the engine is set such that the lower the atmospheric pressure the smaller the predetermined value.

A method of controlling the air-fuel ratio of a mixture of fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine. Feedback control is effected to response to an output from an exhaust-gas concentration sensor to bring the air-fuel ratio to a predetermined value when the engine is in a predetermined medium-load operating region. It is determined whether or not the engine is in a predetermined high-load operating region in which the feedback control is interrupted for bringing the air-fuel ratio to a value smaller than the predetermined value, and whether or not the engine is in a predetermined low-load operating region in which the feedback control is interrupted for bringing the air-fuel ratio to a value larger than the predetermined value. The feedback control is effected even when the engine is in the predetermined low-load operating region, if the engine continually stayed over a first predetermined time period in the predetermined high-load operating region, and has shifted to the low-load operating region within a second predetermined time period after leaving the predetermined high-load operating region.

An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine having a carburetor with a slow speed circuit, includes a feedback control means by which an air intake side secondary air is supplied to the carburetor, on the downstream side of the throttle valve, in response to a result of detection of air-fuel ratio in terms of the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas of the engine. Under a predetermined operating condition of the engine, the feedback control of the air-fuel ratio by means of the control of the air intake side secondary air is performed while the supply of the fuel through the slow speed circuit of the fuel supply system is controlled in response to the result of the detection of the air-fuel ratio. In a variation of the system, the supply of the fuel through the slow speed circuit is stopped during the predetermined operating condition of the engine.

Air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine

A secondary air intake system for adding air to the intake of an internal combustion engine includes an air control valve for changing the open area of a secondary air intake passage. The air control valve is opened and closed from a first and second pressure supply means. A first pressure supply means gradually supplies the first and second control pressure to operate the air control valve and open and close the secondary air intake passage in response to an air-fuel ratio signal. The first pressure supply means also supplies the second control pressure independent of the air-fuel ratio signal during a predetermined engine operating state. A second pressure supply means supplies the second control pressure separately of the first pressure supply means during a predetermined engine operating state.
