A method of making a casing of an image sensor is provided. The method includes the steps of preparing the casing, and applying a static electricity preventive to the casing. The casing is formed with a light passage configured to conduct light emitted from a light source. The static electricity preventive is applied to the inner surfaces of the casing defining the light passage. While the application of the preventive is performed, flashes formed at the light passage are removed.

Apparatus for controlling driving of thermal printhead

A thin-film type thermal print head has a resistor layer formed over an insulative substrate, a conductor layer having a specified planar pattern overlapping the resistor layer, a portion of the resistor layer serving as a heat-emitting part which is not covered by the conductor layer, and a protective layer formed over the heat-emitting part and at least a portion of the conductor layer adjacent to the heat-emitting part. The protective layer may be formed as a conductive layer with resistance greater than that of the heat-emitting part such that static electricity which may be generated by the friction with printing paper can quickly escape to the conductor layer. The protective layer may also include a wear-resisting layer of a prior art type between the conductive layer and the conductor layer, a portion of the conductive layer being preferably connected to the conductor layer. The conductive layer is preferably a mixed layer of SiC and ZrB.sub.2 containing ZrB.sub.2 by 5-20 molar %, formed by sputtering or chemical vapor deposition and having surface resistance of 10.sup.6 -10.sup.9 .OMEGA..

Thin-film thermal print head and method of producing same

In a thermal print head, a partial glazed layer has a width of 0.1 to 0.4 mm and a height of 15 to 25 .mu.m. With the partial glazed layer of this size, since the amount of accumulated heat is reduced, no trailing phenomenon would arise so as to improve the printing quality. It is also advantageous that no defective product will be manufactured because the glazed layer is not too small, with less energy consumption. As a result, a high-quality printing operation can be maintained even during such high-speed printing as not exceeding 1 ms per one line.

Glazed layer for a thermal print head

A drive control apparatus for a thermal head, capable of controlling application energy given to heater elements in the thermal head on the basis of not only history information of a present heater element but also print information including print history information of heater elements adjacent to the present heater element. A print information processing is carried out based on the print history information of the present heater element, the print information of the adjacent heater elements, and the print history information of the preceding and two times before print information of the adjacent heater elements. One example of this processing circuit includes an OR circuit for a logical sum of the preceding and two times before print information of the adjacent heater element, an AND circuit for a logical product of this OR output and a print speed signal, and an OR circuit for a logical sum of this AND output and the print information of the adjacent heater element.

Drive control apparatus for thermal head

In order to obtain a thermal head for a single power source drive with a good print efficiency and capable of performing high speed printing, semiconductor driver elements having a small on-resistance and a small output saturation voltage V.sub.CE are used, and in order to reduce a voltage drop V.sub.lead of each separate electrode, an inorganic gold paste as a separate electrode material is used to form a thick layer part. An electronic apparatus using the thermal head is also disclosed.

A thick film type thermal head which includes an insulative substrate (2), an under-glaze layer (3) formed on the insulative substrate (2), a heat-generating resistor (6) and an electrode device for energizing the heat generating resistor (6) which are formed on the under-glaze layer (3), and an overcoating layer (7) for covering the heat-generating resistor (6). The overcoating layer (7) further includes a first overcoating layer (7a) formed by a thick film forming technique, and a second overcoating layer (7b) formed on the first overcoating layer (7a) through employment of a thin film forming technique.
