Anti-HIV agents

An objective lens has a positive first lens disposed at a position most distant from an object surface, a meniscus-shaped second lens disposed on the object side of the first lens and having its convex surface facing the object side, and a positive third lens disposed on the object side of the second lens. Objective lens

A beam splitter extracts a light beam from light passing through a picture-taking lens system, and a viewfinder optical system directs the light beam to a viewfinder eyepiece. The optical system includes a focus screen, a master lens for imaging the light beam on the focus screen, a pentaroof prism disposed between the master lens and the focus screen, and an eyepiece for observing therethrough the image on the focus screen.

A device for providing an illumination of an object includes first and second optical integrators disposed on an optical axis in spaced-apart relationship. Light rays emitted from a point light source formed by an elliptical reflector mirror having a light-emitting source are incident on the first optical integrator, which forms a plurality of secondary images of the point light source. The second optical integrator receives luminous fluxes emitted from the secondary light source images to form a multiplicity of secondary images of the secondary light source images formed by the first optical integrator. Luminous fluxes from the secondary images formed by the second optical integrator are superimposed by a condenser lens on the object for illuminating the latter with light beams of uniform intensity.

A zoom lens provided with a first group lens having a negative power and a second group lens having a positive power, the first group lens being moved in the direction of the optical axis for focus adjustment, the first group lens and the second group lens being moved in the direction of the optical axis for zooming, includes means for detecting the focused condition of the zoom lens to an object, the detecting means including optical means for receiving a light beam from the object which is discrete from a light beam incident on the zoom lens, and means for making an output signal representative of the focused condition from the light beam passed through the optical means, and means for integrally supporting the detecting means and the first group lens for conjoint movement in the direction of the optical axis.

Zoom lens having an automatic focus detecting device

A zoom lens comprises a magnification changing system and a relay lens system succeeding the magnification changing system. The magnification changing system comprises, in succession from the object side, a first group as a focusing portion having a positive refractive power, a second group as a variator portion having a negative refractive power and movable along the optical axis to thereby change chiefly the focal length, and a third group as a compensator portion having a negative refractive power and maintaining the image plane fluctuated by movement of the variator portion at a predetermined position. The relay lens system comprises a fourth group as a forward relay system group having a positive refractive power and a fifth group as a rearward relay system group having a positive refractive power. The fourth group has three positive lens components of which at least the middle lens component is a cemented lens component having a convex cemented surface in the direction of the image side. The fifth group has at least one positive lens component which is a cemented lens having a convex cemented surface on the object side.

It is believed that the vitamin D derivative with a hydroxyl group at 1.alpha.-position is capable of treating cancer through redifferentiation of cancer cells and that this capability is inherent in vitamin D derivatives with a hydroxyl group at 1.alpha.-position.
