Phase-change type, reversible optical information recording medium, being possible for recording, reproducing, erasing, and rewriting of information, by use of a laser beam. This invention, consists of recording thin film of ternary elements, for example, containing Ge, Te, Sb/or Bi or quaternary elements containing the fourth element of Se with which a part of Te is replaced, which is established on such surface&#x2014;flat substrates as glass or plastics. In this case, the component ratio of Te and Se is selected not to be excess for other elements, such as Ge, Sb/or Bi so as to be fixed as stable compounds of stoichiometric compositions of GeTe, SbTe/or BiTe, or GeSe, SbSe/BiSewhen crystallized. Strictly speaking, a concentration of each component is selected to have proper ratio of the number of atoms each other so as to represent whole composition as the sum of each component. By this treatment, it is possible to have high crystallization speed and long cyclability of recording/erasing. The effect of Se is to increase the viscosity of the system and to make easily to obtain amorphous state; and moreover, by selecting of proper amount diplaced with Te, it is possible to obtain the composition of recoding film superior in both characteristics of recording (amorphization) and erasing (crystallization).

Reversible optival information-recording medium

Phase-change type, reversible optical information recording medium, being possible for recording, reproducing, erasing, and rewriting of information, by use of a laser beam. The composite layer according to the present invention comprises a substrate and a colored layer formed on the surface of this substrate. This colored layer contains a transparent layer and a coloring agent dispersed within the transparent layer, and this transparent layer is made of an inorganic gel or glass material, while the coloring agent contains dyes or pigments. An exhaust gas filter for internal combustion engines and having a honeycomb structure comprises a ceramic fiber and an inorganic binder. The ceramic fiber consists essentially of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and SiO.sub.2. The inorganic binder includes Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and SiO.sub.2 to bind the ceramic fiber. The inorganic binder is of a single glass phase or of a mixed phase of a glass phase and a crystal phase both having the same crystal structure in the temperature range of 20.degree. to 1200.degree. C. In the inorganic binder, a crystal such as quartz which produces abnormal expansion due to crystal phase transition is excluded, and occurrence of cracking is prevented.

A catalytic body contains a base material and, formed on the surface thereof, a catalytic coating layer containing activated alumina, zeolite, a platinum group metal and an inorganic binder. The apparatus includes a detector for detecting a leading edge of the pulse duration period and for producing a start signal thereupon, another detector for detecting a trailing edge of the pulse duration period and for producing a stop signal thereupon, a pattern setting circuit for setting a predetermined basic pattern, and a pattern generator for generating the basic pattern from its beginning in response to the start signal and for terminating the generation of the basic pattern in response to the stop signal. The apparatus further includes a circuit for forming a modulated signal using a full or portion of the basic pattern produced from the pattern generator. Optical information recording method

A burner skeleton made of a composition including calcium aluminate and a silica compound. The calcium aluminate contains 15 to 40 wt % of lime, 35 to 80 wt % of alumina and 0.3 to 20 wt % of iron oxide. The composition may include titanium oxide.

Optical information active layer mainly composed of a quaternary system of Te-Ge-Sn-Au, with composition ratios of Te, Ge and Sn that lie within an area represented by points A B C D and E on FIG. 1, with an additional amount of Au that is 1-40 atomic % of the quaternary system of Te-Ge-Sn-Au. The optical information active layer can be melted readily by a laser diode thereby achieving a high recording sensitivity, because it contains Te.sub.2 Au alloy having low melting point, CHR and erasability after repeated use and long term storage are small, and since excessive Te in the information active layer is stabilized by formings of Ge Te Su Te and Au Te.
