Provision of a disc loading apparatus for a disc player, which permits a disc being inserted to be safely pulled out without being held between a turntable and a clamper. A clamper supporting member having an engagement portion carries the clamper, and a stopper is disposed on the line of movement of the engagement portion. The stopper is normally at a preventing position of being in contact with the engagement portion to prevent the clamper from approaching the turntable. When a disc has been inserted up to a position that it can be held on the turntable, it pushes the stopper to an approach allowable position to allow the clamper to approach the turntable. When the clamper approaches the turntable, the stopper is pushed by the engagement portion of the clamper supporting member to a retreated position, at which the stopper is out of contact with the disc.

This invention provides a disc player in which a disc can be taken out readily and without possibility for the disc to fall out when unloading the disc. A Transfer apparatus pushes back a disc located in a playing portion up to a position, at which the center hole of the disc at least partly projects from a disc insertion slot. An elastic holding mechanism elastically holds a portion of the disc, having been pushed back, on the outer side of a recording area from the opposite sides of the disc, thus preventing the falling-out of the disc.

The invention concerns a disk loading device for a disk player, which permits accurate positioning of a disk at a playback position, as well as being small in size and simple in construction. In the device, an inserted disk pushes a first lever and, when the first lever has been rocked beyond a dead point related to a lever biasing means, the first lever is rocked by the elastic force of the lever biasing means. At this time, a second lever follows the first lever, and the disk is pushed forth up to and positioned at a playback position by the two levers. In this state, a drive means is started to cause a clamper to be lowered and hold the disk on a turntable. Subsequently, the two levers are retreated from the disk.

A push-back member and a main push member are rockably mounted on one side of the passage of disc, and a disc guide is provided on the other side of the passage of the disc. The disc is transferred to a playing portion by pushing its edge with the main push member, and is transferred from the playing portion toward a disc insertion slot by pushing its edge with the push-basc member.

An operation mode change-over device for a tape recorder has a detection mechanism including a detection member comprised of a fine wire made of a spring material for detecting a stoppage of a reel rotation. The detection member is disposed in elastic contact at its intermediate curved portion and a tip end portion of a V-shaped outer half with the reel shaft. As the reel shaft rotates, the detection member receives rotary torque from the reel shaft to be angularly deviated, so that an end of an inner half of the detection member is engaged with a lever of the change-over device, to thereby apply an acting force to the lever. When the reel shaft stops rotating and the acting force disappears, the lever is brought into engagement with a projection of an idle gear shaft and is urged by the projection with subsequent rotation of the idle gear shaft, to thereby move a slide plate for changeover between forward and reverse modes of the tape recorder.
