An organic thin film switching element includes a pair of opposing gate electrodes sandwiching a laminate composed of an insulative film and an organic thin film made of an organic material, laminated one over the other, and an intermediate electrode disposed between the organic thin film and the insulative film. An organic electroluminescence element display device having a display array formed of a plurality of light emitting sections, includes: a substrate having a plurality of first display electrodes formed on a surface in correspondence to the light emitting sections; an organic material layer formed on each of the first display electrodes and including at least one organic electroluminescence material layer capable of emitting light by injecting electrons or holes thereinto; a second display electrode formed in common on the organic material layer; and the organic thin film switching element formed on the substrate and connected to at least one of the first and second display electrodes.

An organic electroluminescent device comprises an organic emitting layer and a hole transport layer laminated with each other and arranged between a cathode and an anode, in characterized in that the hole transport layer made of the triphenylbenzene derivative. This hole transport layer has the high heart-resistant property and high conductivity to improve the durability and thus this device emits light at a high luminance and a high efficiency upon application of a low voltage.

Organic electroluminescent device

An organic electroluminescent device having an organic emitting layer and a hole transport layer laminated with each other and arranged between a cathode and an anode, and the hole transport layer is made of tris-phenothiazinyl-triphenylamine or tris-phenoxazinyl-triphenylamine derivative. The hole transport layer has a high heat-resistant property and high conductivity to improve durability and emits light at a high luminance and a high efficiency upon application of a low voltage.

An organic electroluminescent device comprises an anode, a positive-hole transport layer of organic compound, an emitting layer of organic compound, and a cathode which are laminated in sequence, wherein the emitting layer comprises a pyrimidopyrimidine derivative. This device emits with a high luminance and high emission efficiency.

An organic EL element comprises a cathode, an EL layer of organic compound, a first hole transport layer of organic compound, a second hole transport layer of organic compound and an anode which are laminated in sequence, wherein the second hole transport layer is made of a substance represented by the following chemical formula 1: ##STR1## where R each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen group, a cyano group, a nitro group, a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group, or an aryl group of from 6 to 15 carbon atoms. This organic EL element prevents a leakage current and emits light stably for a long time.

An epoxy resin based powder coating composition which comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of a mixed epoxy resin having a softening point of 60.degree.-80.degree. C. which consists of 50 to 70 wt. % of a bisphenol A expoxy resin having a number-average molecular weight of 800 to 1,800 and 30 to 50 wt. % of a cresol novolak epoxy resin; (B) 5 to 80 parts by weight of a novolak resin; (C) 0.5 to 5 parts by weight of triphenylphosphine; (D) 60 to 200 parts by weight of an inorganic powder having an average particle size of 0.5 to 75 um; and (E) 0.01 to 2 parts by weight of a microfine silica powder having an average particle size of 1 to 100 nm. A display unit for displaying two-dimensional images and pictures comprises a fluorescent layer which fluoresces when irradiated with ultraviolet light and an electric-field ultraviolet light generating device provided behind the fluorescent layer for selective irradiation of the fluorescent layer. The fluorescent layer comprises different types of fluorescent material which emit different colors. The electric-field ultraviolet light generating device comprises a positive electrode layer, a positive hole injection layer, a light emission layer, and a negative electrode layer, respectively.

Optical recording medium and method manufacturing thereof

A molding composition comprising a thermoplastic resin in admixture with flaky graphite and carbon black is molded into an acoustic article which shows a high specific modulus of elasticity due to graphite and an increased internal loss due to carbon black. Preferred molding compositions contain 10-90 wt % of polyvinyl chloride or a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and 90-10 wt % of graphite flakes plus carbon black submicron particles. Carbon black is present in an amount of 0.1-2 parts per part of flaky graphite. Speaker diaphragms, arm pipes and head shells are fabricated from the molding composition. The composition is kneaded and rolled to orient the graphite flakes, and subsequently molded into an article, which is then optionally carbonized or graphitized.
