A specimen container includes a well having an opening to store fluid. An opening plane, and first and second cross sections have outer peripheral shapes dissimilar to each other and in a plan view, the second cross section is contained in the first cross section and the first cross section is contained in the opening plane. The opening plane, and the first and second cross sections are defined in a horizontal posture of the body. The opening plane is a projected plane of the opening of the well on a horizontal plane. The first cross section is a horizontal cross section of the internal space taken at a position corresponding to a first depth defined vertically downwardly from the opening. The second cross section is a horizontal cross section of the internal space taken at a position corresponding to a second depth greater than the first depth.

Imaging system and imaging method

An imaging apparatus, comprising a holder that holds a specimen container carrying a biological specimen, an imager that images the specimen in the specimen container, a sterilizer that supplies a drug or electromagnetic waves having a sterilization effect to the holder, and a controller that performs a sterilization process of supplying the drug or the electromagnetic waves to the holder by controlling the sterilizer at least either before or after imaging the specimen by the imager.

Imaging apparatus

A printing apparatus records a predetermined test pattern on printing paper, and reads the test pattern by means of a scanner. The scanner reads the test pattern at a resolution lower than the resolution of a recording head. This allows the automatic and fast reading of the test pattern. Additionally, the printing apparatus performs an interpolation process on read data, and judges whether there is an abnormality in nozzles or not, based on the read data subjected to the interpolation process. This reproduces the positions of and spacing between lines recorded on the printing paper with high accuracy to achieve the exact judgment as to whether there is an abnormality in the nozzles or not. Therefore, an inspection with a high degree of reliability is accomplished.
