A technique for improving impact resistance performance of a panel is provided in a module or display apparatus with a flat display panel. In a PDP module, a filter is bonded onto a front surface side of a PDP, and a base chassis is bonded to a rear surface side with a two-sided tape. In an attaching portion for the base chassis and a casing, a spring structure portion having a sloped portion and a space is provided in an area of the base chassis so as to correspond to a connecting part of the casing. Impact to glass of the PDP is buffered to an impact force in a direction vertical to a surface of the PDP due to a spring property of the spring structure portion.

Flat display panel module and flat display apparatus

A PDP apparatus has a plurality of address driving modules (ADMs) connecting a PDP, a chassis, PDP address electrodes with an address driving circuit of the chassis side. The ADM has a flexible substrate on which wiring and a driver IC are mounted and an address substrate formed by a metal plate for holding/fixing the flexible substrate. With respect to a bracket of an attachment part of the chassis, the two adjacent ADMs are positioned by positioning pins and elongated holes at both ends of the address substrates, and attached and held/fixed by common fastening using a female screw portion, chipped portions, and a screw part. Reduction in the number of required parts and work man-hours, stable holding/fixing, etc. are realized in a driver module of a PDP apparatus.

Plasma display apparatus

A base chassis has projection parts. A surrounding part of an image display surface of a plasma display panel (PDP) is in contact with a contact part formed around an opening part of a front case. The projection parts are fixed to a chassis fixation part of the front case. The projection parts each have an elastic structure part which elastically deforms in response to a pushing force to the display surface of the PDP. An external force from a rear case side is transmitted to the chassis fixation part only, preventing impact to the PDP. When the PDP directly receives an external force from the front case side, the elastic structure part can elastically deform to alleviate the impact to the PDP. This can alleviate stress to the PDP when applied an external force from the front surface and the rear surface of the cases.
