A transfer device includes: a mounting unit () on which a target article () is to be mounted; and a transfer unit (T) that transfers the target article () between a storage unit (A) and the mounting unit (), the transfer unit (T) includes a first transfer device (T) that holds the target article () and moves the target article () in a depth direction (L), and a second transfer device (T) that moves a portion of the target article () in the depth direction (L), the portion being mounted on the mounting unit (), a first transfer distance (dl) by which the target article () is to be moved by the first transfer device (T) is shorter than a total transfer distance by which the target article () is to be moved in the depth direction (L) between the mounting unit () and the storage unit (A).

Transfer device

A movement apparatus is provided that moves an article in a transfer direction. The movement apparatus is provided with a first protruding/retracting unit, a second protruding/retracting unit installed in a state spaced apart from the first protruding/retracting unit in the width direction, a first drive unit that moves the first protruding/retracting unit in the width direction, and a second drive unit that moves the second protruding/retracting unit in the width direction. The first drive unit is configured to move the first protruding/retracting unit in the width direction within a first setting range by swinging a first connection unit, and the second drive unit is configured to move the second protruding/retracting unit in the width direction within a second setting range wider than the first setting range by moving a second connection unit back and forth in a prescribed path.

Article transport apparatus

An article transport apparatus includes a mast provided upright on the traveling body, an upper frame () coupled to an upper end portion of the mast and an upper rail (R) that guides movement of the upper frame (). Separately from guide rollers disposed on lateral opposite sides of the upper rail (R), a first roller (A) and a second roller (B) that are rotatable about vertical axes (P, P) are disposed on opposite sides of the upper rail (R). A first supporting member () supporting the first roller (A) is attached so as to be biased by a first biasing body () in a direction to push the first roller (A) against the upper rail (R), and a second supporting member () supporting the second roller (B) is attached so as to be biased by a second biasing body () in a direction to push the second roller (B) against the upper rail (R).

An article storage facility includes a controller for controlling operation of a plurality of mobile bodies. The controller is constructed switchable between a total operation mode for causing all of the mobile bodies to engage in an article transporting operation for transporting articles between storage units and an article support, and a partial operation mode for causing part of the mobile bodies to engage in the article transporting operation. In the partial operation mode, a mobile body not selected as mobile body for the article transport operation is caused to travel to a retreating position clear of a traveling range of a mobile body selected as the mobile body for the article transport operation.

Article storage facility and control method therefor

In response to a storing command to store a plurality of articles to different storage units of the rack, the control device of article storage facility performs a multiple storing operation wherein the control device controls horizontal movements of the plurality of moving members, vertical movements of the plurality of transfer device provided to each of the plurality of moving members, and transfer operations of the plurality of transfer device in order to cause the plurality of the transfer device: to be at respective storage/retrieval positions; to receive articles from respective article supports; and to move to rack side article transfer positions corresponding to the storage units in which the articles are to be stored and d) to transfer the received articles to the storage units.

Article storage facility and method for operating the facility

An article transport facility includes a plurality of mobile bodies movable along a single track for transporting articles, and a control device for controlling movement of the mobile bodies. The control device is capable of executing a joint moving operation for moving the mobile bodies in combination. In this operation, a first mobile body which is one of the mobile bodies pushes a second mobile body which is another of the mobile bodies.
