A sealant applying apparatus includes a fastener rotating unit which supports a fastener to be rotatable around a central axis, and a sealant discharging unit which applies a sealant to the fastener by discharging the sealant. The fastener rotating unit includes a first holding member and a second holding member which hold the fastener to be rotatable, and a base which supports the first and second holding members. The first holding member is installed to the base to be exchangeable.

Provided is a mandrel which is inserted into a pipe material when the pipe material is bent, the mandrel including: a core member having a rod-shaped main body portion and a small-diameter portion which is provided on one end side of the main body portion and which is thinner than the main body portion; and a front end member which is provided on one end side of the core member and which is formed integrally with the core member so as to cover the small-diameter portion.

This fastener driving device is equipped with an impact force applying device that repeatedly applies impact forces to a fastener; and a load cell that detects a reaction force acting on the impact force applying device. The impact force applying device stops the applying of the impact force to the fastener on the basis of a detection result of the reactive force.

In a method of fastening composite material parts, a first smoothness of a first fastener is measured which is arranged to a first countersink through-hole which is formed in a first fastened work as stacked composite material parts. A second countersink depth is determined based on the first smoothness. A second countersink through hole with a second countersink depth is formed in a second fastened work as the composite material parts. The second fastened work is fastened using the second fastener arranged to the second countersink through-hole.
