An optical device () includes a joining structure in which a first conductive film () and a second conductive film () are joined to each other. The bottom electrode has an etched surface obtained by chemically etching a polished surface of an electrode material film. The organic layers are formed on the etched surface.

Method of forming an organic EL panel

A first electrode is formed above a substrate, organic material layers are stacked above the first electrode, and a second electrode is formed above the organic material layers. Among the organic material layers, at least two organic material layers having interfaces which electrons or holes traverse are formed by layers which are heat-treated at a temperature that is equal to or higher than the glass transition points of materials respectively constituting the organic material layers and equal to or lower than the melting points of the materials.

Organic EL display apparatus and method of driving the same

A new organic EL display panel includes transparent electrodes , an insulating layer , an organic luminous layer and backside electrodes successively laid on a transparent substrate . The insulating layer is converted from a positive novolac, negative cyclized rubber or chemical amplified photoresist layer shaped to a grate pattern, by baking treatment to remove water and a solvent from the photoresist layer. Electric resistance of the insulating layer is good enough to inhibit leakage of an electric current between the electrodes and . The EL display panel reproduces a distinct image over a long term without growth of dark spots.
