A 3D object graphics display device for storing information about 3D objects such as works of art or buildings, and for displaying them on a 2D display. The '3D shape data' and 'texture data' of a 3D object is stored in a memory in advance. When an operator operates a manipulator, a 2D image is generated, which would be acquired when the 3D object is seen from a viewpoint indicated by the manipulator, by using the 3D shape data and the texture data in every 1/60 sec or less interval (that is, a minimum display interval of the display device). The 2D image is shown on the display, giving the operator a virtual-reality-like feeling as if he was actually holding the 3D object.

A signal reproducing apparatus reproduces a video signal from a recording medium in which a first modulation signal has a video signal frequency-modulated at carrier frequency fc and a second modulation wave has a second signal modulated in a lower frequency region than the frequency fc. A frequency demodulation circuit for frequency-demodulates a first modulation wave and subtracts the cross modulation interference generated in the demodulation signal depending on the output from a detecting circuit. A first filter separates the second modulation wave from the reproduced signal. A detecting circuit detects the cross modulation interference component remaining in the demodulation signal in a specified period from the output signal of the first filter and the output of the demodulation circuit. A closed loop for controlling the frequency demodulation circuit by the output of the detecting circuit is composed, so that the cross modulation interference component in the frequency demodulation signal in the frequency demodulation circuit is removed.

Signal reproducing apparatus

A picture file system including a recording medium having a picture zone and a reduced picture zone divided therein. In a picture recording mode, a full-size picture data is recorded in the picture zone and a reduced picture of a predetermined data size corresponding to the full-size picture is recorded at a predetermined address in the reduced picture zone. In a picture retrieval mode, a plurality of the reduced pictures of the predetermined data size recorded at their predetermined addresses in the reduced picture zone are sequentially reproduced and displayed at the same time.

In an optical disc device including an optical disc, a device for selectively processing and recording on the optical disc analog and digital input signals includes analog modulation circuitry for receiving analog input signals and producing modulated analog output signals, block forming circuitry for receiving digital input signals, partitioning the digital input signals into sectors containing sector data, adding error code data to each sector, and producing sector data signals, and digital modulation circuitry for receiving the sector data signals, digitally modulating the sector data signals to suppress low-frequency components, encoding the sector data signals, and producing encoded modulated digital output signals. Selection circuitry receives an external signal indicative of whether the input signals are analog or digital input signals, selects one of the modulated analog output signals and the encoded modulated digital output signals based on the external signal, and produces a selection signal indicating which of the output signals is selected. Recording circuitry receives and amplifies the output signal selected by the selection circuitry, receives the selection signal from the selection circuitry, filters the amplified signal based on the selection signal, and records the amplified filtered signal on the optical disc.

A DPCM coding apparatus adapted for directly coding a composite color television signal is disclosed which carries out a so-called two-dimensional prediction using horizontal and vertical signals from a predetermined earlier period as predict value for DPCM while taking the color sub-carrier wave into consideration. The two-dimensional prediction allows immediate restoration after dropout of the coded signal should this occur.

DPCM Coding apparatus

A delay circuitry for producing a delayed signal the gain of which is stable irrespective of drift and fluctuation of the delay time of a delay line employed therein, which drift and fluctuation are caused by the changes in the conditions around the delay line. In this circuitry, a carrier signal is modulated with an input signal and the modulated carrier signal is then delayed in the delay line, the delay time of which is unstable due to the conditions around the delay line. The modulated and delayed carrier signal is detected by a synchronous detector with a reference signal, the phase of which is adjusted so that it is always in phase with the modulated and delayed carrier signal to produce the delayed signal which is stable irrespective of the drift and the fluctuation of the delay time.
