A cleaning tool includes: a head; and a cleaning body wrapped around the head. The head includes: a head body; and a projection that projects from the head body. The projection is retractable relative to the head body. The head may further include an elastic member that restores a positional relationship between the projection and the head body.

A cleaning tool includes: a head including: a pressing part that presses a cleaning element against an object to be cleaned in a pressing direction, and having a first dimension in a width direction orthogonal to the pressing direction; and a neck part having a second dimension smaller than the first dimension in the width direction; and a housing that houses the head such that the pressing part and the neck part protrude from the housing in the pressing direction. A length of the housing in the width direction is equal to or greater than a length of protrusion of the pressing part protruding from the housing in the pressing direction.

A connector system includes: a first ferrule configured to hold end parts of multi-core fibers; a second ferrule configured to hold end parts of single-core fibers; and an optical connection member. The optical connection member is arranged between the first and the second ferrule, and includes an optical system configured to optically connect respective cores included in the multi-core fibers and the single-core fibers. A guide pin is formed on one of the first and the second ferrule, and a guide hole is formed in another of the first and the second ferrule. A through hole is formed in the optical connection member, and the first ferrule, the optical connection member, and the second ferrule can be aligned by fitting the guide pin in the guide hole through the through hole.

An attachment cleaning tool includes: a cleaning tool; and an attachment detachably attached to the cleaning tool. The cleaning tool includes: cleaning bodies that clean connection end surfaces of ferrules of an optical connector; head members each that press the cleaning bodies against the connection end surfaces; nozzle members that respectively accommodate the head members; a feeding mechanism that supplies and withdraws the cleaning bodies with respect to the head members; and an accommodating body which accommodates the feeding mechanism. Each of the connection members of the attachment includes: an attachment portion attached to a tip portion of each of the nozzle members; and a tubular portion that protrudes from the attachment portion in a longitudinal direction of the nozzle members and into which one of the ferrules is inserted. The connection members move following a relative movement of the nozzle members in the lateral direction.

An optical connector includes optical fibers, a ferrule, and a pitch fixing member. The optical fibers have bare parts where coating parts have been stripped off. The ferrule has insertion holes, and the bare parts are inserted into the insertion holes. The pitch fixing member is inserted into the ferrule and has fixing parts that fix a pitch of the coating parts of the optical fibers to a pitch of the insertion holes.

An optical fiber alignment tool includes a fiber aligner that includes: separators that assort optical fibers; and fiber insertion portions each disposed between a respective pair of the separators and that align the optical fibers in an alignment direction in a predetermined order when the optical fibers are inserted into the fiber insertion portion; and a fiber holding portion that includes a mount surface on which the optical fibers are mounted. The fiber aligner and the fiber holding portion are relatively movable in the alignment direction of the optical fibers.

An optical connector includes: a housing that retractably accommodates a ferrule; a spring that is accommodated in the housing to press the ferrule to a front side; and an engaging member connected to one end of the spring, fixed to the housing by engaging with the housing, and including a pair of arm parts arranged to sandwich the spring. When a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the spring presses the ferrule and to a direction in which the pair of arm parts is lined up is an up-down direction, window parts are arranged on both sides in the up-down direction of the housing. The engaging member includes: claw parts that are provided on an upper and a lower side of the pair of arm parts to engage with the window parts; and deformation parts that allow the claw parts to be displaced in the up-down direction.

An optical connector includes: a ferrule including a guide pin hole, a plurality of fiber holes lined up in a width direction of the optical fiber, and an inclined end face; a housing in which the ferrule is retractably housed; and an application part that applies an upward force to the ferrule in an upward/downward direction when the optical connector connects with a counterpart connector in a connecting/disconnecting direction. The upward/downward direction is a height direction of the optical connector and is orthogonal to both the connecting/disconnecting direction and the width direction. The inclined end face projects upward toward the counterpart connector.

A fiber cutter includes: a base including a fiber grip that grips an optical fiber; a slider including a fiber end grip that grips an end portion of the optical fiber, wherein the slider moves relative to the base; a cut former including a blade forming an initial cut in the optical fiber and disposed between the fiber grip and the fiber end grip; and a spring that applies a force between the base and the slider to apply a tension to the optical fiber gripped by the fiber grip and the fiber end grip, wherein the cut former is disposed on the slide, and when the initial cut grows and the optical fiber cleaves, the cut former moves together with the slider by the force of the spring.

An optical fiber cutter includes: a base member; a movable member that clamps the optical fiber extending from a fiber holder and that moves with respect to the base member between an advanced position and a retracted position in an extending direction of the optical fiber; a biasing member that biases the movable member at the retracted position forward; a locking member that regulates forward movement of the movable member at the retracted position; a cutter supporter that supports a blade that forms an initial cut in the optical fiber, that moves in a direction that intersects with the extending direction of the optical fiber, and that forms the initial cut at an initial cut forming position between the fiber holder and the movable member; and an unlocking member that releases the regulation of forward movement of the movable member before the blade reaches the initial cut forming position.

A cleaning tool for cleaning a plurality of optical connectors where the cleaning tool includes: an adhesive portion that is integrally formed with the cleaning tool and that contacts a plurality of connecting end faces of the optical connectors collectively. The plurality of optical connectors are inserted into and connected with one housing that is fitted with another housing. The adhesive portion is disposed on the other housing. The adhesive portion contacts the connecting end faces collectively by fitting the one housing with the other housing.

A connector-attached optical fiber cord includes: an optical fiber cord including a coated optical fiber and a sheath surrounding a circumference of the coated optical fiber; a ferrule attached to a front end of the coated optical fiber; a housing that houses the ferrule and the optical fiber cord such that the ferrule is exposed to an exterior of the housing at a front end of the housing while the optical fiber cord extends out of a rear end of the housing; a protective tube attached to a portion of the optical fiber cord in which the coated optical fiber is exposed; and a boot attached to the rear end of the housing and that allows the portion of the optical fiber cord to be inserted through the boot.

A holder includes a base including a reference surface and a slider to which an optical-fiber retainer that retains an optical-fiber can be attached. The slider is movable in a front-rear direction with respect to the base, and at least a portion of the optical-fiber retainer is accommodated between the reference surface and the slider when the optical-fiber retainer is attached to the slider and the optical-fiber retainer is positioned with respect to the reference surface by moving the slider toward a reference surface side.

An optical connector includes a holding member that has a main body section including a bottom wall section and a pair of side wall sections. The holding member is capable of holding, in a space surrounded by the bottom wall section and the pair of side wall sections, an optical cable including a layer of a fibrous tensile member and an optical connector main body including a fixing section that fixes the holding member. The holding member also includes a pinching member that is configured to pinch the fibrous tensile member between itself and an outer surface of the bottom wall section of the main body section.
