A liquid crystal display apparatus includes an array substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and an opposite substrate. The array substrate includes a first pixel and a second pixel. The first pixel includes a first active device and a first pixel electrode. The first pixel electrode is electrically connected to the first active device via a first through-hole. The first pixel electrode includes a plurality of first electrode strips extended along a first direction. The first through-hole is located at a first corner of the first pixel electrode. The second pixel includes a second active device and a second pixel electrode. The second pixel electrode is connected to the second active device via a second through-hole. The second pixel electrode includes a plurality of second electrode strips extended along a second direction. The second through-hole is located at a second corner of the second pixel electrode. A virtual straight line connecting between the first corner and the second corner is substantially not parallel to the first direction.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

A pixel structure includes first and second gate lines, at least one data line, and a pixel unit. The pixel unit has first and second display areas and includes first and second active devices, a first pixel electrode layer, a common electrode layer, and a second pixel electrode layer. The first and second active devices are electrically connected to the first and second gate lines, respectively. The first pixel electrode layer is electrically connected to the first active device. The common electrode layer is disposed above the first pixel electrode layer and includes first and second portions which are located at the first and second display areas, respectively. The second pixel electrode layer is electrically connected to the second active device, and is located above the first portion of the common electrode layer but not above the second portion, where the second pixel electrode layer has a first slit pattern and the second portion of the common electrode layer has a second slit pattern.

Pixel structure

A display panel is divided into a first region and a second region located outside the first region, and includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel, a plurality of scan lines, a first common line, a second common line, and a black matrix. In the first sub-pixel, a first distance exists between the first common line and a neighboring scan line along a second direction. In the second sub-pixel, a second distance exists between the second common line and a neighboring scan line along the second direction, and the first distance is not equal to the second distance. The black matrix has a plurality of holes, including a first hole and a second hole. The first hole exposes the first sub-pixel and the first common line located in the first region. The second hole exposes the second sub-pixel and the second common line located in the second region.

Display panel

A pixel structure includes a substrate, a scan line, a first data line, a second data line, a first active device, a second active device, a first pixel electrode, and a second pixel electrode. The substrate has a first unit area and a second unit area. The first pixel electrode is disposed in the first unit area and includes a first main portion and first branch portions extending from the first main portion to an edge of the first unit area. The second pixel electrode is disposed in the second unit area and includes a second main portion and second branch portions extending from the second main portion to an edge of the second unit area, wherein at least a part of the first branch portions and at least a part of the second branch portions are asymmetrically arranged at two sides of the second data line.

An active array substrate, a liquid crystal display panel and method for driving the same are provided. The active array substrate includes a plurality of first strip electrodes and second strip electrodes. The sum of one width of the first stripe electrode and one pitch between two adjacent first stripe electrodes is greater than that of one width of the second strip electrode and one pitch between two adjacent second strip electrodes.

Active array substrate, liquid crystal display panel and method for driving the same

A pixel structure electrically connected to a scan line and a data line is provided. The pixel structure includes an active device and a pixel electrode, wherein the active device is electrically connected to the scan line and the data line, and the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the active device. The pixel electrode has a plurality of strip-shaped slit groups. Each of the strip-shaped slit groups includes a plurality of strip-shaped slits whose extending directions are substantially parallel to each other, and contours of at least parts of the strip-shaped slits are non-isosceles trapezoids.

A thin film transistor (TFT) array substrate includes a stack structure disposed to raise an extended electrode of a drain electrode of a thin film transistor. Therefore, a contact hole does need to be very deep to expose the extended electrode of the drain electrode.
