A mobile radiography system is disclosed, which includes a radiation source for radiating a plurality of beams; a detector for detecting the plurality of beams from the radiation source; a controller for determining an angular difference between the radiation source and the detector; and a positioning device mounted with the radiation source for recognizing a position of the detector relative to the radiation source based on the angular difference between the radiation source and the detector to align the radiation source to the detector. The present disclosure discloses a method for reducing ringing artifacts in an X-ray image, comprising: acquiring an X-ray image by scanning an object, wherein the X-ray image comprises grid line artifacts; applying a first bandwidth filter and a second bandwidth filter respectively to the X-ray image so as to obtain a filtered first image and a filtered second image, wherein the first bandwidth filter and the second bandwidth have different bandwidths; constructing a weighting map according to the X-ray image; and fusing the filtered first image and the filtered second image with the weighting map so as to obtain an output image. The present disclosure also discloses a system using the above method.

A method for reducing grid line artifacts in an X-ray image is disclosed, which includes acquiring an X-ray image by scanning an object, wherein the X-ray image comprises grid line artifacts; decomposing the X-ray image into a high frequency image and a low frequency image, wherein the high frequency image comprises the grid line artifacts; filtering the high frequency image to reduce the grid line artifacts in the high frequency image so as to obtain a filtered high frequency image; and combining the filtered high frequency image with the low frequency image to reconstruct an output image. A system adopting the above method is also disclosed.

An image processing method comprises: identifying a weak edge comprising a plurality of weak edge pixels and a strong edge comprising a plurality of strong edge pixels in an input image; filtering at least a part of said input image to obtain a smoothed image, during which said weak edge in said input image is filtered with a first filter and said strong edge in said input image is filtered with a second filter having a smoothness less than that of said first filter; acquiring edge information of said input image based on said input image and said smoothed image; and generating an output image based on said edge information and said smoothed image. Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for removing streaks from detector cells with performance difference, specifically a method for removing streaks from detector cells with performance difference and streaks caused by other reasons. The method comprises: estimating a projection on a detector cell with performance difference for each of one or more views; reconstructing one or more initial images with the estimated projection on the detector cell with performance difference for each view; estimating a projection error on the detector cell with performance difference for each view from the reconstructed one or more initial images having streaks; and reconstructing one or more output images with the estimated projection error on the detector cell with performance difference for each view to remove the streaks from the reconstructed one or more output images, improving quality of CT reconstructed images.

A two dimensional collimator assembly and method of manufacturing thereof is disclosed. The collimator assembly includes a wall structure constructed to form a two dimensional array of channels to collimate x-rays. The wall structure further includes a first portion positioned proximate the object to be scanned and configured to absorb scattered x-rays and a second portion formed integrally with the first portion and extending out from the first portion away from the object to be scanned. The first portion of the wall structure has a height greater than a height of the second portion of the wall structure. A composite particle-in-binder (PIB) material () may contain X-ray photoconductive particles () such as PbO (lead monoxide) in a binder of polyimide (). This PIB material may be prepared in precursor paste form, and applied as a coating () onto a thin film transistor array () having a storage capacitor () at each pixel (). The coating () is cured, and an electrically conducting layer () is applied to the exposed surface of the coating (), to provide a bias voltage. X-ray photons striking the photoconductive particles () cause localized electrical conduction proportional to the number of photons. This charges respective capacitors () that provide image data input to a computer.
