A display control apparatus is capable of reducing image scaling times, maintaining image quality, and extending a turn-on time of a pair of 3D glasses. The display control apparatus includes a data processing unit and a timing generating unit. The data processing unit provides an image frame comprising a valid data region, which is larger than a visual region of a display panel. The timing generating unit generates an output timing signal according to a relative position of the visual region corresponding to the valid data region, so that a partial region of the valid data region corresponds to the visual region of the display panel. The partial region of the valid data region is displayed in the visual region of the display panel according to the output timing signal.

Display control apparatus and method and image processing method

An image editing method for editing an original image is provided. The original image has a distinct figure and an indistinct figure, which correspond to an in-focus object and an out-of-focus object, respectively. The image editing method includes: obtaining an out-of-focus object distance from the out-of-focus object to a lens; performing an inverse blurring process on the indistinct figure according to the out-of-focus object distance and an optical parameter to obtain a processed figure; and forming a processed image according to the processed figure and the distinct figure.

Image editing method and associated apparatus

A method for controlling subtitles applied to a display apparatus is provided. The method is capable of dynamically adjusting a subtitle of an original image. The original image includes a right-eye frame and a left-eye frame. The right-eye frame includes right-eye subtitle information, and the left-eye frame includes left-eye subtitle information. The method includes the steps of: determining an adjusted subtitle display mode; determining a shift distance of the right-eye subtitle information and the left-eye subtitle information; and adjusting the shift distance according to the adjusted subtitle display mode or a given 3D depth, such that an adjusted subtitle presented by the right-eye frame and the left-eye frame shows an adjusted subtitle 3D depth. A frame rate conversion apparatus for 3D display is provided. The frame rate conversion apparatus for 3D display is capable of preserving alternate display of left and right frames while also preventing an issue of frame tearing. The frame rate conversion apparatus includes a storage unit, an input controller and an output controller. The input controller inputs an input frame sequence to the storage unit according to an input frame rate. The input frame sequence includes a plurality of frame pairs each having a left frame and a corresponding right frame. The output controller alternately outputs one of the left frames and one of the right frames from the storage unit according to an output frame rate and left/right frame information associated with the frame pairs in the storage unit to form an output frame sequence.

Frame rate conversion apparatus for 3D display and associated method

A display apparatus associated with a pair of glasses displays three-dimensional (3D) content. The pair of glass includes a transmitting circuit for establishing bi-directional communication with the display apparatus; and a proximity sensor, which is for sensing whether the pair of glasses is worn, controlling the pair of glasses, and for controlling whether to perform 3D display on the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes an image capturing apparatus, which is for capturing an image, determining whether the pair of glasses is worn, and for controlling the display apparatus and the pair of glasses according to a determination result. The display apparatus includes an image processing module for extracting two-dimensional (2D) content from the 3D content.

A display apparatus and associated method are provided. The display apparatus receives a display frame having an output width-height ratio, and outputs an image frame according to a screen width-height ratio. The output width-height ratio is different from the screen width-height ratio. The display method includes obtaining an image region and a subtitle region from the display frame, generating a subtitle according to the subtitle region, generating the image frame according to the image region, and displaying the image frame and the subtitle.

An image processing apparatus having an on-screen display (OSD) function includes a processing circuit and an OSD circuit. The OSD circuit generates OSD data, and the on-screen data comprises left-eye display data and right-eye display data. The processing circuit processes image data, which comprises left-eye image data and right-eye image data, and respectively blends the left-eye and right-eye display data of the OSD data with the left-eye and right-eye image data of the image data to generate combined image data.

An auto phase detection apparatus for automatically detecting a target sampling phase is provided. The auto phase detection apparatus includes a phase decider for generating a plurality of phase control signals; a sample clock generator, coupled to the phase decider, for generating a plurality of sample clock signals according to the phase control signals; an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), coupled to the sample clock generator, for converting an analog video signal to a digital signal according to the sample clock signals; a phase detector, coupled to the ADC and the phase decider, for generating a plurality of phase detection results according to the digital signal; and a motion detector, coupled to the ADC and the phase decider, for generating a motion detection result by detecting a motion in the digital signal. The phase decider determines the target sampling phase from the phase control signals according to the phase detection results and the motion detection result.

A universal infrared receiving apparatus is provided. The universal infrared receiving apparatus includes a slicer, a non-volatile memory, a volatile memory and a comparison apparatus. The slicer slices a remote control command waveform into digital waveform data. The non-volatile memory pre-stores target waveform data. The volatile memory stores the digital waveform data and the target waveform data. The comparison apparatus, coupled to the volatile memory, compares the digital waveform data and the target waveform data to generate a comparison result.

Universal infrared receiving apparatus and associated method

A filter for eliminating image errors, as well as associated method and TV signal display circuit, is provided to determine the filter coefficients according to the regularity of image errors in an image signal or a TV signal, thereby removing the image errors. The filter includes a plurality of multipliers and an adder. The multipliers receive a plurality of pixel values from a plurality of scan lines, multiply the pixel values by a plurality of corresponding weight coefficients and output the result; the adder sums up the outputs of the multipliers to generate an output pixel value. The errors have a regularity and the corresponding weight coefficients are associated with the regularity such that the errors of the pixel values may be canceled when the adder generates the output pixel value.

A display controller for displaying multiple windows and associated memory access method are provided. The display controller receives a first video source and a second video source for displaying multiple windows, and includes a line buffer, a deinterlacer, a scaler, and a memory interface unit. The line buffer buffers pixel data of a non-overlapped area of a main image associated with the first video source, and pixel data of a sub image associated with the second video source. The deinterlacer is coupled to the line buffer for selectively deinterlacing data in the line buffer. A display controlling device includes a first line buffer, a second line buffer, a buffer controller, a mixer, a de-interlacing device, a de-interlacing controller, a scaling device, a scaling controller, and a window display controller. The window display controller controls the operations of the mixer, the de-interlacing controller, and the scaling controller according to a first coordinate parameter and a second coordinate parameter, wherein a first video frame and a second video frame are displayed on a display device. The window display controller controls the de-interlacing device and the scaling device to selectively operate in either a first clock or a second clock.
