A system for cutting a given portion of a surface of a core insert includes a piezoelectric actuator, a turning tool, a rotating member, a driving unit and a numerically-controlled unit. The controlling unit stores coordinates of the storing coordinates of each point on the given portion of the surface in a predetermined coordinate system, and compares the instant coordinates of the cutting portion of the turning tool with the stored coordinates of the given portion, thus controlling the piezoelectric actuator to drive the turning tool to cut the given portion of the surface if the coordinates of the cutting portion of the turning tool match with the stored coordinates of any point on the given portion of the surface.

System and method for cutting surface of core insert

Exemplary system and process for assembling a camera module are provided. The system includes a worktable, a light intensity sensor, a lens module holding device and a controlling unit. The worktable provide placement of the image sensor module thereon, thus a center of the image sensor having a coordinate value thereof. The lens module holding device can hold and move the lens module above the worktable, and it has a light source to emit parallel light that converged at a focus point, wherein the light intensity sensor can detect the focus point location and generating a signal associated with a coordinate value of the focus point. The controlling unit can receive the signal and instruct the lens module holding device to move the lens module toward the image sensor module so that the optical axis of the lens module is aligned with the center of the image sensor.

System and process for assembling camera modules

A backlight module includes a light guide plate and two light emitting elements for emitting light beams. The light guide plate includes first and second light guide portions and a connecting portion interconnecting the first and second light guide portions. The first light guide portion has two opposite first light incident surfaces at opposite sides thereof, and a first light output surface. The second light guide portion has a second light incident surface facing first light output surface of the first light guide portion. Each of the light emitting elements faces one of the first light incident surfaces of the first guide portion. The first guide portion receives the light beams via the first light incident surfaces and output them via the first light output surface. The second light guide portion receives the light beams from the first light output surface via the second light incident surface.

Backlight module and light guide plate

A device () for stripping an outer covering () of a cable () includes a base () having a shaft () coupled thereto, a laser generator () configured for emitting a laser beam and a rotating arm (). The shaft defines a central axis configured for coaxial alignment with the cable. The laser generator is arranged at rest relative to the rotating arm. The rotating arm includes at least one light directing member configured for directing the laser beam emitted from the laser generator to impinge upon a circumference of the outer covering of the cable. The rotating arm is rotatable relative to the central axis associated with the shaft in a manner such that the circumference of the outer covering of the cable can be impinged upon by the laser beam thus stripping the outer covering of the cable.

A backlight module () includes a light source and a light guide plate (). The light source defines a number of light units () for emitting light beams. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface (), an emission surface () adjacent to the light incident surface, a bottom surface () opposite to the emission surface, a plurality of side surfaces () between the emission surface and the bottom surface, and a plurality of diffusion units () formed on the bottom surface. A dot size of each diffusion unit/dot is inversely proportional to a summation of the sum of reciprocals of squares of distances between the diffusion unit and each of the light units and the sum of reciprocals of squares of distances between the diffusion unit and corresponding images of each of the light units formed, respectively, by the side surfaces.

Backlight module

A system for measuring a total track length of a telescopic lens includes a testing chart, a light source, a processor, a display screen and a range finder. The lens and an image sensor are received in a holder. The testing chart has a frame pattern and a plurality of line pair patterns. The testing chart faces and aligns with the image sensor for allowing the image sensor to capture an image of the testing chart. The processor analyzes the image generated by the image sensor, so as to obtain a modulation transfer function value representative of a precision focal position of the lens. The range finder measures a first distance between the image sensor and the range finder, a second distance between the lens and the range finder, and calculates a distance difference between the first and second distances to obtain the total track length of the lens.

System and method for measuring length of camera lens

A camera module includes a body having a front face and a back face opposite to the front face, a display screen disposed on the front face of the body, a camera lens provided on the back face of the body, a through window defined in the body, and a turn member rotatably mounted on the back face of the body. The turn member includes a reflection mechanism configured for reflecting light incident from the window onto the camera lens while the turn member is turned to a predetermined position.

Camera module and electronic device incorporating the same

A camera module () includes a lens unit (), an image sensor (), an optical group (), and at least a first light directing unit and a second light unit directing each having two reflective surfaces. The optical group includes a first reflective surface facing the lens unit and a second reflective surface facing the image sensor. The reflective surfaces of the first and second light directing units are positioned corresponding to the first and second reflective surfaces of the optical group. A distance between the first light directing unit and the optical group is different from that between the second light directing unit and the optical group. The optical group is movable relative to the first and second light directing unit. When the optical group is moved to different positions, light from the lens unit is directed to the image sensor in different path.

Camera module

An apparatus () for assembling and testing a lens unit () having a barrel () and a lens group () includes an assembling device (), a testing device and a mounting member (). The assembling device is used to assemble the lens group into the barrel to form the lens unit. The testing device is used to test the assembled lens unit. The mounting member is configured for carrying the lens unit in a manner so as to move the lens unit along a circle from a first position where the assembling device performs the assembling to a second position where the testing device performs the testing.

Assembling and testing device for lens units and method for employing the same

A molding apparatus includes a first mold part, a second mold part, and an alignment assembly. The two mold parts have an alignment axis and are configured for mating with each other to delimit molding cavity. The two mold parts respectively have a first surface and a second surface, which face each other. The alignment assembly is associated with the two mold parts and includes a light emitting member and a light receiving member. The two members are linked to the two mold parts, respectively. The light emitting member is configured for delivering light to a first location of the first surface at a predetermined position relative the alignment axis. The light receiving member is configured for receiving the light emitted at a second location of the second surface, at a same position relative the alignment axis as the first location.

Molding apparatus with optical alignment mechanism

An exemplary optical module () includes a lens barrel (), a lens group (), a spacer (), and a filter (). The lens barrel has an inner wall (), and at least two securing grooves () formed on the inner wall. The lens group and the spacer are disposed in the lens barrel. The spacer includes an annular base () and a predetermined amount of projecting blocks () formed on a same side of the base (). At least two first bending portions () are formed on the blocks bending toward a center of the base, and at least two second bending portions () are formed on the blocks bending outwards from a center of the base. The second bending portions are configured to be secured in the securing grooves of the lens barrel. The filter is secured on the spacer by the first bending portions.

Optical module

A method for fabricating a patterned core for a light guide plate includes: providing a substrate (); coating a photo-resist layer () on the substrate; exposing the photo-resist layer to light using a photo-mask (), the photo-mask having patterns, wherein a line-width of each pattern is less than that of a corresponding pattern of the patterned core; developing the photo-resist layer; wet etching the substrate; and removing remaining photo-resist from the substrate. Because of the isotropic directionality of the wet etching, the horizontal component of the etching can appreciably enlarge a horizontal dimension of each etched area, thereby compensating for the difference in size between each pattern of the photo-mask and the corresponding pattern of the finished core. Thus, only one semiconductor process having an exposing, a developing and an etching step is needed to fabricate the core having fine patterns. The method is relatively simple, and reduces operating costs.

Method for fabricating a patterned core for a light guide plate

A light guide plate includes an incidence surface, an emission surface, a bottom surface opposite to the emission surface, and a plurality of dots distributed on the bottom surface. The emission surface and the bottom surface are adjoining to the incidence surface. Each of the dots has a substantially fan-shaped cross-section in the direction of the bottom surface.

A backlight module () has a light guiding device () and a light source (). The light guiding device has a single light guide plate (), and a reflection member (). The single light guide plate has a light incidence surface (), a top light emitting surface (), and an opposite bottom light emitting surface (). The single light guide plate further has a plate cavity (not labeled) formed therein for receiving the reflection member. The reflection member has a top reflection surface () and an opposite bottom reflection surface (). The top reflection surface of the reflection member faces toward the top light emitting surface of the light guide plate, and the bottom reflection surface of the reflection member faces toward the bottom light emitting surface of the light guide plate.

Light guiding device with two opposite light emitting surfaces and backlight module using the same

A frame for a backlight module includes a stable case (), a movable case () and connecting elements. The stable case has a bottom plate () and at least three sidewalls () connected to the bottom plate, and the movable case has a back rim () and two side rims () connected thereto. The movable case is slideably connected with the stable case by the connecting elements. The frame is compact, and which can be used for light guide plates with different sizes.
