An exemplary touch display system includes a flexible touch screen, a prism, an infrared light source, an infrared image sensor, and a processor. The prism is substantially isosceles right-angled triangular shaped, with a first side surface thereof being disposed adjacent to but spaced apart from back surface of the touch screen by air, wherein when a touch is applied to the touch display surface at a touch position, the touch screen is bent at the touch position and contact the prism at a contact position corresponding to the touch position. The infrared light source and the infrared image sensor are arranged adjacent to and facing to a hypotenuse surface of the prism. The processor is configured for processing image signals from the image sensor and obtaining the contact position based on light intensities of the image signals, thereby obtaining the touch position on the touch display surface.

Touch display system with optical touch detector

An apparatus for detecting movement direction of object, includes a converging lens, an image sensor and an image processor. The converging lens has an axial chromatic aberration between a first and a second rays in different wavelengths. The image sensor is for receiving and converting the first and second rays into first and second electronic image signals associated with the object. The image processor is configured for analyzing whether the object is closer to an object plane associated with the first ray or closer to an object plane associated with the second ray when the object moves to different positions, and determining the movement direction of the object based on the analyzed positions of the object relative to the object plane associated with the first ray and the object plane associated with the second ray.

An image sensor includes a base, at least a plurality of first sensing elements and second sensing elements formed on the base. The first sensing elements and the second sensing elements are arranged in an alternate fashion. The first sensing elements cooperatively form a first noncontinuous planar sensing surface facing toward an object, and the second sensing elements cooperatively form a second noncontinuous planar sensing surface facing toward the object. The first noncontinuous planar sensing surface is lower than the second noncontinuous planar sensing surface.

Image sensor, apparatus and method for detecting movement direction of object

A portable electronic device includes a housing including an opening defined in a peripheral side surface thereof, a camera module mounted in the housing, and a light-reflecting member rotatably mounted at the opening. The camera module is aligned with and faces toward the opening. The light-reflecting member mounted at the opening and is configured for reflecting light into the camera module. The portable electronic device is capable of employing high resolution camera module while retaining thin thickness.

Optical lens

A lens module includes a barrel, a lens, and a light leveling assembly. The barrel includes an opening, which allows a light to pass therethrough. The lens is accommodated in the barrel. The light leveling assembly is accommodated in the barrel. The light leveling assembly includes a substrate and a film. The substrate has a first surface where the film is disposed and an opposite second surface facing the lens. A thickness of the film is approximately equal to a quarter wavelength of the light. A refractive index of the film exceeds that of the substrate.

Lens module

A distance measuring system includes a light source, an image capture apparatus, a light absorption member and a signal processing circuit. The image capture apparatus includes a first lens module, a second lens module and an image sensor. The lens modules respectively have a focus. The image sensor detects light from the light source at two optical spots of the two lens modules, respectively. The light absorption member is disposed generally between the two lens modules for absorbing light reflected from the lens modules and thereby reducing optical interference. The signal processing circuit is configured for calculating the ratios of the two distances to the focal lengths of the respective focuses. A perpendicular distance between the light source and a line passing through the centers of the first and second lens modules is obtained.

An exemplary camera device includes a holder, an image sensor, an outer barrel with an axis, an inner barrel unit. The image sensor is disposed in the holder. The inner barrel unit includes an inner barrel and at least one lens disposed in the inner barrel. The inner barrel is threadedly received in the outer barrel. The holder includes a first ring-shaped part, and the outer barrel includes a second ring-shaped part. The first ring-shaped part is coupled to the second ring-shaped part.

An exemplary apparatus capable of picking and placing a workpiece into a container includes a suction device and a hollow body. The suction device is configured for providing a suction force for picking up the workpiece. The hollow body has a picking portion configured for picking and placing the workpiece into the container under the suction force, wherein a plurality of air slots are defined in an outer wall of the hollow body, the air slots are configured for providing an air passage between an interior of the container and an exterior thereof so as to facilitate movement of the hollow body into and out of the container, whereby the workpiece can be steadily placed in the container.

The first polarizer is positioned along the optical pathway of the first light beam. The second polarizer is positioned along an optical pathway of the second light beam.

Refractive-index measurement system and method for measuring refractive-index

A camera module includes a lens assembly, a lens barrel, an image sensor, a hollow holder receiving the lens barrel and the image sensor, and a thermally deformable member. The lens assembly defines a first focal length with a first focus point at a first temperature and a second focal length with a second focus point at a second temperature on an optical axis associated therewith. The thermally deformable member has one end attached to the lens barrel and an opposite end attached to the holder. The thermally deformable member comprises a first sheet and a second sheet. Wherein at the second temperature, the second sheet bends toward the first sheet thereby moving the second focus point toward the first focus point and the image plane of the lens assembly with the second focal length toward the image sensor.

Camera module

A method for testing and positioning a lens includes determining whether a modulation transfer function (MTF) value of the lens for an object at a first object distance is not less than a first required MTF value and whether another MTF value of the lens for an object at a secondary object distance is not less than a secondary required MTF value. A first MTF curve is plotted according to optical resolution measurements for the object at the first object distance, and the secondary MTF curve is obtained by offsetting the first MTF curve. The secondary MTF curve can approximately represent optical resolution measurements for the object at a secondary object distance. The method can determine an ideal range of positions of the lens relative to an image sensor.
