A double-sided display device includes a transparent self-luminous display panel, a switching panel and a projection device. The transparent self-luminous display panel has a light-emitting side and a backside opposite to the light-emitting side. The switching panel is disposed on the backside of the transparent self-luminous display panel. The switching panel includes a first electrode, a second electrode and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first electrode and the second electrode are configured to control liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer so that the switching panel includes a scattering state and a transparent state. The projection device is configured to project toward the light-emitting side of the transparent self-luminous display panel.

Double-sided display device

A display panel, including a circuit substrate, a light emitting diode, and a reflective layer, is provided. The light emitting diode includes a light emitting layer and first and second semiconductor layers. The light emitting layer is located between the first and second semiconductor layers. The second semiconductor layer is located between the first semiconductor layer and the circuit substrate. The reflective layer is in contact with a part of a side surface of the light emitting diode. A part of the reflective layer is located between the light emitting diode and the circuit substrate. Taking a direction perpendicular to a top surface of the circuit substrate as a height direction, a horizontal height of a top surface of the reflective layer is located between a horizontal height of a top surface of the light emitting layer and a horizontal height of a top surface of the light emitting diode.

Display panel and manufacturing method thereof

A pixel array substrate including a substrate and multiple pixel units is provided. The pixel units are disposed on the substrate, and each include at least one active device, a pixel electrode and at least one storage capacitor. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the at least one active device, and has multiple openings. The at least one storage capacitor is electrically connected to the pixel electrode and the at least one active device. The at least on storage capacitor completely overlaps a part of the openings of the pixel electrode. An electrowetting display panel adopting the pixel array substrate is also provided.

Pixel array substrate and electrowetting display panel

A method for driving a cholesteric liquid crystal display, wherein the method includes steps as follows: Firstly, a reflective cholesteric liquid crystal panel including a pixel array composed of a plurality of pixel units is provided. Next, a scanning operation is performed on the pixel array. The scanning operation includes steps as follows: A continuous fixed pulse is applied to at least one of the plurality of pixel units lasting for a time period, so as to make a cholesterol liquid crystal layer of the at least one of the plurality of pixel units having a uniform lying helix (ULH) phase; and a maintaining pulse that is smaller than the continuous fixed pulse is applied to the at least one of the plurality of pixel units.

Cholesterol liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

A display panel includes a plurality of driving electrode regions and a plurality of wiring regions connected between the driving electrode regions. A (2n−1)th wiring region extended from a (2n−1)th driving electrode region toward a (2n)th driving electrode region has a wiring extending direction forming a first included angle with an arrangement direction, and a (2n)th wiring region extended from the (2n)th driving electrode region toward a (2n+1)th driving electrode region has a wiring extending direction forming a second included angle with the arrangement direction, and a (2n+1)th wiring region extended from the (2n+1)th driving electrode region toward a (2n+2)th driving electrode region has a wiring extending direction forming a third included angle with the arrangement direction, wherein n is a positive integer. At least one of the first included angle, the second included angle and the third included angle is positive and at least one of them is negative.

Display panel

A method for adjusting ambient contrast ratio and an electronic apparatus are provided. The electronic apparatus includes a transparent display and a transmittance adjustment plate disposed at the back of the transparent display. In the electronic apparatus, an adjustment transmittance used to adjust the transmittance adjustment plate and a luminance percentage used to adjust the transparent display are calculated, a grayscale layer is generated based on the luminance percentage; a voltage generator is used to control the transmittance of the transmittance adjustment plate to the adjustment transmittance, and in a case that the transmittance of the transmittance adjustment plate is the adjustment transmittance, a graphic controller is used to display a frame on the transparent display while display the grayscale layer on top of the frame.

Method for adjusting ambient contrast ratio and electronic apparatus

A transparent display panel with driving electrode regions, circuit wiring regions, and optically transparent regions is provided. The driving electrode regions are arranged into an array in a first direction and a second direction. An average light transmittance of the circuit wiring regions is less than ten percent, and an average light transmittance of the optically transparent regions is greater than that of the driving electrode regions and the circuit wiring regions. The first direction intersects the second direction. The circuit wiring regions connect the driving electrode regions at intervals, such that each optically transparent region spans among part of the driving electrode regions. The transparent display panel includes first signal lines and second signal lines extending along the circuit wiring regions, and each circuit wiring region is provided with at least one of the first signal lines and at least one of the second signal lines.

Transparent display panel

An electrophoretic display device includes a first component substrate, a second component substrate, a display medium layer, and an isolation structure. The first component substrate includes a first carrier and a plurality of pixel electrodes. The pixel electrodes are arranged in an array on the first carrier. The second component substrate includes a second carrier and at least one common electrode. The at least one common electrode is overlapped with the pixel electrodes. The display medium layer and the isolation structure are located between the first carrier and the second carrier. The display medium layer includes a plurality of charged particles. The isolation structure includes a barrier structure and an isolation electrode. The isolation electrode is formed on a bottom surface of the barrier structure and adjacent to the display medium layer.

Electrophoretic display device and driving method thereof

A display apparatus and an image displaying method are provided. The display apparatus includes a display module and a driving circuit. The driving circuit is coupled to the display module and receives an input image. The driving circuit determines a watermark area and a non-watermark area of the display module according to watermark information, and at least one of the watermark area and the non-watermark area is alternately driven by a first gamma curve and a second gamma curve. A brightness difference percentage between the first gamma curve and the second gamma curve at a same grayscale value between 10% and 90% of a grayscale percentage is between 0.2 and 0.6.

Display apparatus and image displaying method

A backlight module includes a light source array, a reflector module, and an optical film. The light source array includes a plurality of light sources. The light emitted from the light source can be refracted by the lens unit to obtain a specific light-output angle and uniformity. The reflector module includes a plurality of reflector units. Each reflector unit includes a flat portion, a first wall portion, and a corner wall portion, which have structures and arrangements designed to enable the light source to achieve a display effect of less shadows and better contrast.

A (2&#x2212;1)th wiring region extended from a (2&#x2212;1)th driving electrode region toward a (2)th driving electrode region has a wiring extending direction forming a positive included angle with the arrangement direction, and a (2)th wiring region extended from the (2)th driving electrode region toward a (2+1)th driving electrode region has a wiring extending direction forming a negative included angle with the arrangement direction, wherein n is a positive integer.

A total internal reflection display includes a sub-pixel, a reflecting layer, at least one first stereoscopic electrode and a display medium layer. The sub-pixel is defined by a color filter and a black matrix disposed adjacently to the color filter. The reflecting layer is located beneath the sub-pixel. The first stereoscopic electrode is located beneath the black matrix. The width of the first stereoscopic electrode is less than the width of the black matrix. The display medium layer is located between the sub-pixel and the reflecting layer. The height of the first stereoscopic electrode is greater than half of the thickness of the display medium layer.

Total internal reflection display

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a switching panel disposed outside the display panel. The switching panel includes a first base, a first electrode, a second electrode, a second base, a third electrode, a fourth electrode and a liquid crystal layer. The first electrode and the second electrode are disposed on the first base. The first electrode has branches, and the branches of the first electrode are arranged in a first direction. The second base is disposed opposite to the first base. The third electrode and the fourth electrode are disposed on the second base. The third electrode has branches, and the branches of the third electrode are arranged in a second direction, and the first direction is interlaced with the second direction. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first base and the second base.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a switching panel disposed outside the display panel. The switching panel includes a first base, first and second electrodes disposed on the first base, a second base, third and fourth electrodes disposed on the second base, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first base and the second base. When the display apparatus is operated in a first anti-peep mode, the first electrode and the second electrode disposed on the first base have a first AC driving signal and a second AC driving signal respectively, and the third electrode and the fourth electrode disposed on the second base have DC reference signals respectively, wherein the first AC driving signal and the second AC driving signal are in synchronization.

An optical film including a first layer and a second layer disposed on the first layer and attached to the first layer is provided. The first layer has a plurality of micro-structures respectively extending along a first direction and arranged side by side at an interval. The micro-structures protrude toward the second layer. A first pitch exists between each micro-structure and an adjacent micro-structure in a side-by-side arrangement direction. The first pitch is greater than 10 times a wavelength of an incident light. Moreover, a display device including the foregoing optical film is also provided.
