A pressure sensitive adhesive composition is described that comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer comprising polymerized units of (meth)acrylic ester monomer having a Tg less than 0&#xb0; C. and ethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising a pendent functional group crosslinked with an amine or carboxylic acid group of at least one amino acid. Also described are aqueous pressure sensitive adhesive compositions, adhesive-coated articles, and methods.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive is provided that is a dried product of a latex composition, which is formed from an emulsion composition. The latex composition and the emulsion composition are also provided. The emulsion composition has droplets that contain various monomers plus a (meth)acrylate polymer dissolved in the monomers. Additionally, an article containing a layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and a method of forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive are provided. The pressure-sensitive adhesives often have both high peel adhesion and high shear strength (i.e., high cohesive strength or high shear holding power).

A pre-adhesive composition is described comprising an acid-functional (meth)acrylate copolymer and an aziridine crosslinking agent, which when crosslinked provides a pressure-sensitive adhesive and pressure-sensitive adhesive articles.

Thermally developable materials including photothermographic and thermographic materials have a buried conductive backside layer comprising one or more binder polymers in which are dispersed each of at least two types of conductive materials: (1) nanoparticles of one or more conductive metal compounds, and (2) one or more organic solvent soluble inorganic alkali metal salt antistatic compounds. These buried conductive backside coatings provide conductivity that is affected minimally by humidity.

Incorporating a combination of a trisphenol reducing agent (developer) and a substituted olefinic co-developer having a phosphonium cation in photothermographic materials improves image tone in resulting images.

Non-photosensitive direct thermographic materials comprise a reducing agent that is a catechol borate compound. These compounds can reduce silver(I) ion to metallic silver to produce a dense black silver image under the short time and high temperature conditions that occur when using thermal print-heads during direct thermal printing.

Incorporating a crown ether-alkali metal complex cation of an enolate anion of an aldehyde having at least one electron withdrawing group in the alpha (&#x3b1;) position, provides thermally developable materials with imaging properties that have little change with changes in humidity. Both photothermographic and thermographic materials are provided, and particularly photothermographic materials having lower silver coverage.

Photothermographic materials contain one or more blocked aliphatic thiol compounds in an amount of at least 1 mg/mas stabilizers. These compounds have a calculated octanol-water partition coefficient (c log P value) of 2.0 or greater, and an N value equal to or greater than 6.5.

Black-and-white, aqueous-based, silver halide-containing photothermographic materials have increased stability both prior to use and after imaging with the incorporation of at least 0.005 g/mof a tetrafluoroborate salt.

Ionic liquids are added to black-and-white direct thermographic materials to provide increased image density or to allow for reduced silver coverage (that is, improved silver efficiency). Useful ionic liquids include imidazolium, pyrazolium, pyridinium, pyrimidinium, pyrazinium, tetra-alkylammonium, or tetra-alkylphosphonium cations.
