A fluid flow system and a method for detecting air bubble and liquid are provided. The fluid flow system comprises a force sensor configured to monitor at least one of an air bubble or an occlusion in a flow tube. The fluid flow system comprises a controller to execute the method. The controller is configured to monitor an output signal of a force sensor of the fluid flow system, and the output signal comprises an Alternating Current (AC) component and a Direct Current (DC) component, and detect a change in the output signal to a new output signal based on a number of transitions to the new output signal, and a time duration of the new output signal. The controller compares the change in the output signal with one of a predefined number of transitions or a predefined time and determines a new threshold when the change in the output signal exceeds one of the predefined number of transitions or the predefined time.

Fluid flow system for bubble and fluid detection

Apparatuses, systems, and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide for improved sensor devices. An example sensor device includes a magnet mounting tube and a magnet supported within the magnet mounting tube. The sensor device includes a sensor mounting tube that receives at least a portion of the magnet mounting tube and supported magnet therein. The sensor device includes a magnetic sensor affixed to the sensor mounting tube. The sensor device includes a spring positioned around the magnet mounting tube and the sensor mounting tube such that the magnet and the magnetic sensor are surrounded by the spring. In an instance in which a load is applied to either a first end or second end of the spring, the magnet mounting tube translates relative the sensor mounting tube so as to induce a change in magnetic flux identified by the magnetic sensor indicative of a weight of the load.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for weight detection

Sensors, methods, and computer program products for air bubble detection and fluid composition determinations are provided. An example sensor device for use with fluid flow systems includes a force pulse generator coupled with a fluid flow system that emits a force pulse and a force pulse sensor coupled with the fluid flow system. The force pulse sensor receives the force pulse emitted by the force pulse generator and determines the fluid flow system's transient response to the force pulse. Based upon the transient response, the force pulse sensor determines an operating condition of the fluid flow system. The operating condition may be indicative of the presence of an air bubble within the fluid flow system or may be indicative of a composition of a fluid within the fluid flow system. The force pulse sensor may further determine the amplitude and rate of decay of the transient response.

Sensors, methods, and computer program products for fluid flow determinations

A multi-turn non-contact sensor includes a rotationally mounted driver magnet, and a rotationally mounted driven magnet. The driver magnet has a first number (P) of magnetic poles and is configured to selectively receive a rotational drive torque and, upon receipt of the drive torque, to rotate about a first rotational axis. The driven magnet is spaced apart from, and is coupled to receive a magnetic force from, the driver magnet. The driven magnet has a second number (P) of magnetic poles and is responsive to rotation of the driver magnet to rotate about a second rotational axis that is parallel to the first rotational axis. The driven magnet rotates one complete revolution each time the driver magnet rotates a predetermined number (N) of complete revolutions, P&#x3e;P, and N=(P/P).

Multi-turn angle position sensor (extendible for more than 10 turns)

A transformer includes a bobbin, a primary coil, and a pair of secondary coils. The bobbin has an axial bore formed therein. The primary coil is wound on the bobbin and is adapted to be electrically excited with an excitation signal. The secondary coils are disposed adjacent to the primary coil, and are inductively coupled to the primary coil upon electrical excitation of the primary coil. The primary coil is wound on the bobbin such that at least a portion of the primary coil has a cross section shape that is a trapezoid.

A multi-turn angular position sensor includes a fixed magnet non-rotationally coupled to a fixed structure. A shaft is configured to rotate multiple complete rotations from a reference position, where each complete rotation front the reference position in a rotational direction defines a unique rotation zone of the shaft. Rotatable magnets surround the shaft and are disposed between the shaft magnet and the fixed magnet and are configured to rotate a different number of angular degrees than the shaft magnet. One of the rotatable magnets is a zone sensor magnet that rotates no more than one complete rotation from the reference position. A rotational zone sensor supplies a zone sensor output signal that indicates the unique rotation zone of the shaft. A shaft rotation sensor supplies a shaft rotation output signal representative of a number of angular degrees that the shaft rotates within each unique rotation zone.

Steering position sensor (multi-turn 1440 degrees angle position sensor)

In one example, a position sensor is provided. The position sensor comprises an integrated circuit, and a magnetic field sensor that provides a detected signal indicative of a position of a magnetic field source to the integrated circuit. The magnetic field sensor comprises a tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) sensor. The position sensor further comprises a wireless circuit coupled to the integrated circuit, wherein the wireless circuit comprises an antenna configured to radiate a position signal based on the detected signal.

Wireless magnetic position sensor

A rotary position sensor apparatus includes a magnet having a surface and a plurality of Hall components placed in association with the surface of the magnet. The Hall components are located on a neutral axis of the magnet thereby forming a rotary position sensor apparatus having an enhanced linearity, a reduced calibration time and a compact size. A printed circuit board (PCB) can also be provided and the Hall components mounted to the PCB. The magnet preferably possesses a rectangular shape, but other shapes may be implemented depending upon design considerations.
