The present invention relates to an improved side airbag assembly capable of preventing free movement of a tether during deployment of an airbag. The side airbag assembly includes an airbag built into a seat of a vehicle and deployed outward from the seat, a tether disposed on an outer surface of the airbag and configured to control free movement of the airbag when the airbag is deployed, and a guide patch disposed on the outer surface of the airbag and coupled to the tether, and the guide patch allows the tether to pass therethrough at least twice.

Side airbag assembly

A curtain airbag apparatus for a vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes an airbag cushion including a first main chamber, a second main chamber, and a third main chamber respectively arranged in a first-row area, a second-row area, and a third-row area in the vehicle, and a diffuser coupled to the airbag cushion to distribute gas directed towards the first main chamber, the second main chamber, and the third main chamber. The airbag cushion further includes an extra chamber arranged between the second main chamber and the third main chamber to assist in increasing speed of deployment of the third main chamber. The curtain airbag is for installation between pillar trims in the vehicle.

A method of folding an airbag cushion including a first operation of tuck-in folding an upper portion of the airbag cushion downward to form an upper tuck-in portion, and tuck-in folding a lower portion of the airbag cushion upward is to form a lower tuck-in portion, a second operation of partially in-board folding the front based on a longitudinal direction from the rear to the front of the airbag cushion, the third operation of out-board folding the airbag cushion in a state in which the airbag cushion has a partially double overlapping structure through the in-board folding, and a fourth operation of in-board folding the airbag cushion in a state in which the airbag cushion has a triple overlapping structure through the out-board folding, wherein the in-board folding and the out-board folding are alternately performed in the longitudinal direction of the airbag cushion.

Method of folding airbag cushion and airbag device

A center side airbag configured to reduce spacing between an airbag cushion and a passenger in a front passenger seat to safely restrict transverse movement of the passenger in the front passenger seat. The center side airbag includes an airbag cushion configured to be unfolded between a driver seat and a front passenger seat, and a protruding chamber configured to be unfolded by a front passenger seat-side portion of the airbag cushion protruding toward a passenger in the front passenger seat.

Center side airbag

A side airbag that is configured to reduce risk of injury to a passenger by differentiating inner pressures in an airbag cushion at the beginning of a deployment of the airbag cushion. The side airbag includes a diffuser configured to supply gas discharged from an inflator to an inside of an airbag cushion, a separator partitioning an internal space of the airbag cushion up and down so that an upper region of the airbag cushion is more rapidly inflated than a lower region of the airbag cushion by the gas introduced into the airbag cushion through the diffuser, and a passage formed between the upper region and the lower region such that the gas flows between the upper region and the lower region.

Side airbag

Proposed is an automotive side airbag including: an inflator ejecting gas when operating; an air cushion expanded and unfolded forward from a side of a passenger by the gas ejected from the inflator; and a diffuser disposed in the air cushion, supplying the gas ejected from the inflator to the air cushion, and having a discharge hole formed across a direction in which the air cushion is unfolded by the supplied gas.

A cushion of a curtain air bag device including: a single-layer chamber receiving gas from an inflator and spreading to form a single gas layer, when a vehicle is involved in a collision; a multilayer chamber having a structure in which a plurality of layers overlap each other, and communicating with the single-layer chamber; a sealing part sealing edges of the single-layer chamber and the multilayer chamber; and a coupling part integrally connecting an overlapping part of the sealing part formed at the edge of the multilayer chamber.

An airbag for a vehicle of the present invention includes: an inflator; and an airbag cushion, in which first and second slits are formed in the airbag cushion so as to be spaced apart at a predetermined distance, and one end of the inflator is inserted into the airbag cushion through the first slit, and then protrudes to the outside of the airbag cushion through the second slit, and as a result, the inflator is securely and conveniently coupled to the airbag cushion.
