An electronic device such as a head mounted device may have a display that displays an image for a user. Head-mounted support structures may be used to support the display and to support lenses. The head-mounted support structures may have one or more lens barrels or other support members. Each lens may have an optical surface and a side surface. Adhesive may be used to attach the lenses to the head-mounted support structures. A first portion of the adhesive may bond each lens to a first respective portion of a support member and a second portion of the adhesive may bond each lens to a second respective portion of the support member. The adhesive may be a non-silicone adhesive that fractures in bulk rather than failing at interfaces with the lens and support member. The elastic modulus of the adhesive may help avoid cracking and plastic deformation during drop events.

Lens mounting systems for electronic devices

A wearable display system includes a housing, a display module positioned within the housing and including a lens and a display panel, and a seal extending between the housing and the display module. The seal is configured to allow relative movement between the lens and the display panel to adjust focus of the display panel. In one aspect, the seal includes first and second segments with generally linear configurations and a third segment with an arcuate configuration that is positioned between the first and second segments. In another aspect, the seal includes a first portion with an arcuate configuration and a second portion with a linear configuration and a bellows portion. In another aspect, the seal includes corrugations to facilitate controlled deformation of the seal during relative movement of the display module.

Dynamic seals for adjustable display devices

This relates to a device that detects a user's motion and gesture input through the movement of one or more of the user's hand, arm, wrist, and fingers, for example, to provide commands to the device or to other devices. The device can include a plurality of myoelectric sensors configured to detect one or more electrical signals from a body part of a user indicative of one or more movements. A plurality of signals indicative of the detected one or more electrical signals may be generated. The device may also include a wireless communication transmitter configured to communicate with a peripheral device and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive the plurality of signals from the plurality of myoelectric sensors, use the plurality of signals together to determine a gesture, and communicate one or more of: the plurality of signals and the gesture to the peripheral device.

Wearable device for detecting light reflected from a user

In one aspect of the present disclosure, a display system (e.g., a wearable HMD) is described that includes an internal housing; a lens that is positioned within the internal housing; a display module including a display panel that is positioned within the internal housing to allow for relative movement between the lens and the display module to adjust focus of the display panel; and a seal that extends between the internal housing and the display module to define an enclosed interior space accommodating the lens and relative movement between the lens and the display module.

Motion and gesture input from a wearable device

This relates to a device that detects a user's motion and gesture input through the movement of one or more of the user's hand, arm, wrist, and fingers, for example, to provide commands to the device or to other devices. The device can be attached to, resting on, or touching the user's wrist, ankle or other body part. One or more optical sensors, inertial sensors, mechanical contact sensors, and myoelectric sensors can detect movements of the user's body. Based on the detected movements, a user gesture can be determined. The device can interpret the gesture as an input command, and the device can perform an operation based on the input command. By detecting movements of the user's body and associating the movements with input commands, the device can receive user input commands through another means in addition to, or instead of, voice and touch input, for example.
