A stereo-image displaying apparatus includes a light-source module and an image displaying device. The light-source module has at least one light-emitting block. A light-source driving unit is coupled with the light-source module and the image displaying device. The light-emitting block is driven by the light-source driving unit to synchronously emit a light according to a displaying frequency of the image displaying device with a reduced light-emitting duty cycle. The cross-talk between stereo images is reduced by using the light emitted from the light-source module, synchronously associating with the image displaying device.

Stereo-image displaying apparatus and method for reducing stereo-image cross-talk

A measurement method and a measurement device are disclosed. The measurement method is adapted to a 3D display capable of producing a plurality of viewing zones, which includes following steps. At least a part of a display area of the 3D display displays an image of one of the viewing zones. Light radiation amounts of a first position of the 3D display are detected with a light detector from different viewing angles. A viewing angle with a local maximum light radiation amount is taken as a reference viewing angle, a distance between the light detector and the 3D display along the reference viewing angle is changed, and light radiation amounts of a plurality of different second positions of the 3D display are detected in different distances. A distance at which light radiation amounts of the second positions are most uniform is taken as the optimal viewing distance.

Measurement method and measurement device

A hybrid multiplexed 3D display and a displaying method thereof. The hybrid multiplexed 3D display includes an image display, a light source and an image splitter. The image display generates a view image. The light source sequentially generates light of multiple colors transmitted through the image display. The image splitter disposed above or below the image display causes image data, which is generated after the light is transmitted through the image display, to emit toward two or more than two view directions. Thus, the image viewed by a user has at least two views to achieve a stereoscopic visual effect.

Hybrid multiplexed 3D display and displaying method thereof

A time multiplexed stereo display system is provided. The system includes a video player to output a sequence of image frames with respect to multiple stereo-displayed images. Each of the stereo-displayed images is formed by a first-view image and a second-view image with a parallax therebetween. The sequence of the image frames is sequentially displaying all of the first-view images and then sequentially displaying all of the second-view images to symmetrically transmitting first-view/second-view images. Further, a display panel receives the sequence of image frames for accordingly displaying the image frames. Multiple shutter eyeglasses, are controlled by the video player to transmit the stereo-displayed images, respectively, in accordance with the sequence of the image frames. Each of the shutter eyeglasses has a first-view glass and a second-view glass to accordingly transmit one of the first-view images and the second-view images in each display of the image frames.

System and method for time multiplexed stereo display and display apparatus

A stereo display including a display panel unit, a shutter glasses unit, and a backlight unit is provided. The display panel unit sequentially displays a right eye image and a left eye image according to a right eye synchronizing vertical signal and a left eye synchronizing vertical signal. The shutter glasses unit has a right eye glass and a left eye glass, wherein the right eye glass is synchronously opened according to the right eye synchronizing vertical signal, and the left eye glass is synchronously opened according to the left eye synchronizing vertical signal. The backlight unit provides a light source to the display panel unit, wherein the backlight unit is synchronously turned on and off according to the right eye synchronizing vertical signal, and the backlight unit is also synchronously turned on and off according to the left eye synchronizing vertical signal.

Stereo display and display

A multi-beam laser device is used to make a microretarder plate, which comprises a plurality of first retardation state areas and second retardation state areas alternating with each other. The device comprises an infrared laser, a beam splitter, and a driving means. The beam splitter is used to split the laser beam into a plurality of equal intensity parallel beams and bring the parallel beams into focus. The driving mechanism is used to drive the beam splitter in one direction, and the beam splitter will scan a plurality of parallel scan lines by the direction on a surface.

Multibeam laser device for fabricating a microretarder by heating process

A stereo-image displaying apparatus including an adjustable light source module, a spatial modulator, and an image display panel is provided. The adjustable light source module is adapted for emitting a plurality of first illumination beams and a plurality of second illumination beams that are staggered along a first axis. The spatial modulator and the image display panel are sequentially disposed on the light path of the first and second illumination beams. The first illumination beam passes through the spatial modulator so that the image display panel displays a first view field image in a first frame period. The second illumination beam passes through the spatial modulator so that the image display panel displays a second view field image in a second frame period. Moreover, a method for reducing stereo-image cross-talk is also provided.

A stereoscopic image display apparatus having a function for tracking at least one observer is provided. The stereoscopic image display apparatus includes a detection and calculation module and a display unit. The detection and calculation module detects the position of the observer to configure N views of a displayed image corresponding to two eyes of the observer, and outputs a control information, wherein N&#x2267;4. The display unit receives the control information and generates N view images corresponding to the N views. Each eye of the observer receives at least two view images, and the two eyes respectively receive multiple view images in different views.

Stereoscopic image display apparatus

A stereoscopic display apparatus and a display method are provided. The stereoscopic display apparatus includes a display panel, a dynamic-backlight module, a tracking panel, an optical lens array. The display has an updated region and a non-updated region during a frame period the display panel displays according a first synchro-signal. The dynamic-backlight module has a plurality of light-emitting regions and the light-emitting regions are turned-on according to a second synchro-signal. The first synchro-signal and the second synchro-signal are synchronal. During the frame period, parts of the light-emitting regions corresponding to the updated region are synchronally turned-on and parts of the light-emitting regions corresponding to the non-updated region are synchronally turned-off. A light provided by at least the part of the light-emitting regions turned-on passes through one silt set and the display panel such that one of the single-eye images is only displayed by the non-updated region.

Stereoscopic display apparatus and display method

An autostereoscopic display apparatus includes multiple micro-display devices for exporting an 3-dimensional image. Each of the micro-display devices produces a portion image of the image. The portion image has multiple viewing-zone portion images with respect to multiple viewing zones. An image guiding unit has multiple micro-image output terminals, which are arranged according to an array sequence being set, so as to guide the output images from the micro-display devices. A stereo-image discrete screen is coupled with the image guiding unit, so that the image can transit the stereo-image discrete screen through multiple column transparent regions for producing multiple viewing-zone images of the image with respect to the different viewing zones. The image guiding unit can be, for example, an optical fiber array unit or an array-type light guiding unit.

Autostereoscopic display apparatus

A back-lighted autostereoscopic display. A uniform light is emitted from a plane light source. A polarization plate is disposed in front of the plane light source to polarize the uniform light into a polarized light. A micro-moving window device is disposed in front of the polarization plate to selectively change the polarity of the polarized light into another type of polarization. A micro-optical device is located in front of the micro-moving window device, thereby both the polarized light changed and unchanged pass through the micro-optical device to travel further. An imaging apparatus is located in front of the micro-optical device, so that the lights are converged into the eyes of an observer. A liquid crystal display panel with a patterned half-wavelength phase retarder according to the even rows and odd rows of the interlaced image displayed on the liquid crystal display is located in front of the imaging apparatus to project the stereo-image to the observer.

Back-lighted autostereoscopic display

A micro-retarder plate using a single plate with phase retardation. The plate with phase retardation having a pattern that further comprises a plurality of first retardation state areas and second retardation state areas alternating with each other is formed on the micro-retarder plate. The pattern is formed using an infra-red laser to expose the plate with phase retardation, or using a circuit board with a pattern of electrothermal resistor thereon in contact with the plate of phase retardation. The linear polarized lights with direction of polarization being 45 degrees to the stretching direction of the retardation film passing through the first retardation state areas and the second retardation state areas are perpendicular to each other. The micro-retarder is laminated between two protection layers with index matching glue to remove the scattering effect caused by the heat process.
