A fingerprint recognition device including a sensor panel, a readout circuit and a host circuit is provided. The sensor panel includes a plurality of sensor pixels arranged in an array. The sensor pixels are configured to output sensing signals. The readout circuit is coupled to the sensor pixels. The readout circuit is configured to read out the sensing signals from the sensor pixels after a first exposure period to obtain a first fingerprint image, and read out the sensing signals after a second exposure period to obtain a second fingerprint image. The sensor pixels are reset before the first exposure period and after the second exposure period. The host circuit is coupled to the readout circuit. The host circuit is configured to perform a fingerprint recognition operation according to the first fingerprint image or the second fingerprint image.

Fingerprint recognition device, readout circuit and operating method of fingerprint recognition device

A display device with a fingerprint sensing function is provided. The display device includes a display panel and a sensor panel. The display panel includes a plurality of display pixels. The sensor panel is disposed under the display panel. The sensor panel includes a plurality of sensor pixels arranged in an array. The array has a first sensor pitch in a first direction. Each of the sensor pixels includes a sensor. Every two neighboring sensors of the sensors have a first shift pitch in the first direction, and the first shift pitch is not equal to the first sensor pitch.

A fingerprint sensing control device and an operation method thereof are provided. The fingerprint sensing control device includes a touch control circuit and a fingerprint sensing control circuit. The touch control circuit determines a touched region of an object on the touch panel. The fingerprint sensing control circuit performs a fingerprint sensing control on the touch panel and determines a target sensing sub-region overlaid by the touched region from a plurality of sensing sub-regions of the fingerprint sensing region of the touch panel. When the target sensing sub-region comprises a first sensing sub-region and a second sensing sub-region that are adjacent to each other, the fingerprint sensing control circuit starts to scan the first sensing sub-region in a first direction from a common edge between the first sensing sub-region and the second sensing sub-region and starts to scan the second sensing sub-region in a second direction from the common edge.

Fingerprint sensing control device and operation method thereof

The invention provides a display panel driving circuit and a method for capturing error information thereof. The display panel driving circuit includes a driving circuit, a pixel circuit and a timing controller circuit. The method includes: obtaining LED error information indicating errors caused by an LED of the pixel circuit; driving the LED by the drive circuit to obtain LED and driving circuit error information; obtaining driving circuit error information according to the two error information. The timing controller circuit records the error information and compensates LED attenuation by using the error information.

Display panel driving circuit and method for capturing driving circuit error information thereof

A drive circuit applicable to a display device includes a first signal path and a second signal path. The first signal path, configured to receive and transmit image data, includes a compression unit configured to perform a compression procedure on the image data to generate compression data; a storage unit configured to store the compression data; and a de-compression unit configured to perform a de-compression procedure on the compression data to recover the image data. The second signal path is configured to transmit the image data to the storage unit so as to bypass the compression unit, and transmit the image data received from the storage unit to a display unit so as to bypass the de-compression unit when the image data is not transmitted by the first signal path. The received image data is passed through the first signal path or the second signal path depending upon its characteristics.

Data compression system for liquid crystal display and related power saving method

A method for reducing motion blur in a video signal of a head mounted display apparatus is provided. The method includes the following steps. Receive the video signal including a first frame and a second frame. Track an eye movement of a user to determine a user view area. Generate an intermediate frame between the first frame and the second frame. Provide the first frame, the intermediate frame, and the second frame for display. The step of generating the intermediate frame includes synthesizing pixel values only in the user view area of the intermediate frame.

A compensation method for a driving circuit of a display device includes generating a motion vector between a previous frame and a current frame subsequent to the previous frame; generating a first estimation frame according to the current frame and the motion vector; adjusting the first estimation frame according to the difference between the current frame and the first estimation frame, to generate a first overdrive frame; and inserting the first overdrive frame between the current frame and a next frame subsequent to the current frame.

Compensation method for display device and related compensation module

A drive circuit applicable to a display device includes a first signal path and a second signal path. The first signal path, configured to receive image data and transmit the image data in a first operation mode, includes a compression unit, a storage unit and a de-compression unit. In the first operation mode, the compression unit performs a compression procedure on the image data to generate compression data, the storage unit stores the compression data, and the de-compression unit receives the compression data and performs a de-compression procedure on the compression data to recover the image data. The second signal path is configured to receive image data, transmit the image data to the storage unit so as to bypass the compression unit, and transmit the image data received from the storage unit to a display unit so as to bypass the decompression unit in a second operation mode.

A display driver configured to drive a display panel to display an image is provided. The display driver includes an interpolation operation unit and a gamma circuit. The interpolation operation unit is configured to receive two gamma reference curves, and perform an interpolation operation on the two gamma reference curves to generate a plurality of gamma curves. The gamma circuit is configured to select one of the generated gamma curves based on a user selection signal, and drive the display panel to display the image based on the selected gamma curve, so as to adjust a color temperature of the image based on the user selection signal. Color temperatures of the generated gamma curves are distinct, and the generated gamma curves have the same gamma value. Furthermore, a method for adjusting a color temperature of an image is also provided.

A data compression system for a liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a host and a drive circuit. The host is utilized for outputting image data in a first data format or a second data format according to an operation mode of the LCD. The drive circuit includes a bypass path, for transmitting the image data according to the operation mode; a compression unit, coupled to the host, for receiving the image data and performing a compression procedure on the image data to generate a compression data according to the operation mode; a storage unit, coupled to the compression unit, for storing the compression data and the image data; a de-compression unit, coupled to the storage unit, for receiving the compression data and performing a de-compression procedure on the compression data to recover the image data according to the operation mode; and a display unit, for displaying the image data.

A display driving circuit comprising a video signal transformation circuit, a reference voltage generating circuit, a DAC and an interpolation operational amplifier is provided. The video signal transformation circuit transforms an input video signal into a transformed video signal with a higher bit depth. The transformed video signal comprises an upper n bits data and a lower m bits data, wherein n+m equals a bit depth of the transformed video signal. The reference voltage generating circuit generates reference voltages. The DAC selects a first reference voltage and a second reference voltage to interpolation operational amplifier from the reference voltages according to an upper n bits data of the transformed video signal. The interpolation operational amplifier outputs a driving voltage to display device according to the first reference voltage, the second reference voltage and the lower m bits data of the transformed video signal.

A motion detection method is adapted for an image display circuit including a motion detection circuit and an arbitration circuit. In this motion detection method, a number of motion quality observation windows are defined. Each motion quality observation window includes a start point and an ending point. In the motion quality observation windows, a write frame count value is adjusted according to a write frame command. At the end point of each motion quality observation window, if the write frame count value is equal to or bigger than a preset count value, an enable signal is outputted to the arbitration circuit to determine whether the image display circuit performs motion display. In the motion quality observation windows, the end point of the i-th motion quality observation window is located between the start point and the end point of the (i+1)-th motion quality observation window, where i is a positive integer.

Motion detection circuit and motion detection method

A driving signal generating device for staggering transition time of driving signals to prevent image crosstalk for a display device includes a receiving terminal, a first adjusting unit, a multiplexer, a second adjusting unit and a frame output controller. The receiving terminal receives a plurality of step grayscale waveforms. The first adjusting unit transforms the plurality of step grayscale waveforms into a plurality of initial grayscale waveforms and further adjusts widths of the plurality of initial grayscale waveforms according to a first predetermined value to generate a plurality of grayscale waveforms. The multiplexer selects a first grayscale waveform from the plurality of grayscale waveforms. The second adjusting unit then adjusts a width of the first grayscale waveform according to a second predetermined value to generate a second grayscale waveform. The frame output controller controls output of the first grayscale waveform and the second grayscale waveform.
