Herein provided is a resonator-diplexer-antenna (RDA) structure, active radiator, and associated systems and methods. The RDA structure comprises an input port configured for obtaining an input signal; an outer band defining an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter, the input port coupled to the outer band at a first point thereof, the outer band being configured to accept the input signal from the input port; and a core structure contained and retained within the inner perimeter of the outer band; wherein the core structure and the outer band define at least one gap between the core structure and the outer band; and the outer band, core structure, and at least one gap are configured to resonate at a predetermined frequency; and an output port coupled to the outer band at the second point and configured for outputting an output signal.

Resonator-diplexer-antenna

A transceiver with a spectrum sensing unit configured to detect, within a plurality of millimeter wave bands, one or more channels with tolerably low interference for selection. The transceiver has a transmitter configured to modulate a transmit signal to an output transmit signal using a transmit carrier frequency compatible with a transmit channel selected from the one or more channels, and using a transmit duplexing operating mode compatible with a transmit millimeter wave of the plurality of millimeter wave bands that correspond to the transmit channel. The transceiver has a receiver configured to demodulate a receive signal from an input receive signal using a receive carrier frequency compatible with a receive channel selected from the one or more channels, and using a receive duplexing operating mode compatible with a receive millimeter wave of the plurality of millimeter wave bands that correspond to the receive channel. The transceiver has a duplexer configured to route the output transmit signal from the transmitter based on the transmit duplexing operating mode and the transmit millimeter wave band, and the input receive signal to the receiver based on the receive duplexing operating mode and the receive millimeter wave band.

Reconfigurable multi-mode and multi-bands radio architecture and transceiver

A phase shifter and a method of making a phase shifter are disclosed herein. The phase shifter may include a housing, a dielectric, an electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The housing includes first, second, third, and fourth conductive walls, each conductive wall being opposite one of the other walls. The dielectric is situated within the housing and defines a compartment within the housing. The electrode is aligned with the compartment. The liquid crystal layer fills the space of the compartment. A bias line is coupled to the electrode. The phase shifter may be integrated with as substrate integrated waveguide.

System and method for variable microwave phase shifter

Embodiments are provided for an antenna element design with high aperture efficiency and stable gain across a frequency range. In an embodiment, the antenna element is obtained by placing a conductive layer on a dielectric substrate, forming a slot in the conductive layer, and forming two feed lines inside the dielectric substrate. A dielectric layer is placed on the dielectric substrate and over the conductive layer and the slot. A circular or elliptical conductive wall is formed inside the dielectric layer. A conductive element is also formed on the dielectric layer and over the slot. One or more second dielectric layers are placed on the dielectric layer and over the conductive element. A second circular or elliptical conductive wall is formed inside each second dielectric layer. A second conductive element is also formed on each second dielectric layer, over the conductive element.
