A power monitor includes a detecting circuit, a processing circuit, and a warning circuit. The detecting circuit detects a first abnormal condition of a primary side circuit and a second abnormal condition of a secondary side circuit. The processing circuit calculates a first class and a first occurring number of the first abnormal condition, and calculates a second class and a second occurring number of the second abnormal condition. The processing circuit determines whether the first occurring number is larger than a first predetermined number corresponding to the first class; if it is, the processing circuit outputs a first abnormal signal. The processing circuit determines whether the second occurring number is larger than a second predetermined number corresponding to the second class; if it is, the processing circuit outputs a second abnormal signal. The warning circuit outputs a warning signal according to the first or the second abnormal signal.

Methods for flyback converters are provided. The method, adopted by a flyback converter circuit including a transformer, including: determining an output voltage output from a secondary circuit of the transformer; feeding a feedback voltage based on the output voltage from the secondary circuit back to a primary circuit of the transformer; increasing a current limit and a switching frequency of a primary current with the feedback voltage; and supplying the primary current to a primary winding of the transformer.

Power control methods for flyback converters based on the current limit and switching frequency

An integrated control circuit of setting brown-in voltage and compensating output power and a method for operating the same are disclosed. The integrated control circuit is applied to a power supply. The integrated control circuit includes a control unit and a voltage regulation unit. The control unit has a control pin and a driven current outputs from or inputs into the control unit via the control pin. The voltage regulation is electrically connected to a DC input voltage terminal of the power supply and the control unit, thus receiving a DC input voltage and the driven current. By dividing the DC input voltage and the produced voltage by the driven current, a compound voltage is produced. Therefore, the fixed brown-in voltage is set and the output power is compensated when the power supply is operated under different input voltage levels.

Integrated control circuit of setting brown-in voltage and compensating output power and method for operating the same

A flyback converter with primary side and secondary side feedback control includes a transformer, a secondary-side feedback unit and a feedback control unit. The secondary-side feedback unit is electrically connected to a secondary winding of the transformer and comprises an isolated signal transceiver device and an error amplifier. The feedback control unit is electrically connected to an auxiliary winding of the transformer and operatively connected to the isolated signal transceiver device. When the flyback converter is operated in heavy load conditions, the feedback control unit receives a secondary feedback control signal sent from the isolated signal transceiver device for feedback control. When the flyback converter is operated in light load conditions, the feedback control unit receives a primary feedback control signal sensed by the auxiliary winding for feedback control.

Flyback converter with primary side and secondary side feedback control and method for the same

An active heat-dissipating mechanism includes a fan module, an airflow-guiding part and an airflow shunt part. The fan module includes an airflow inlet and an airflow outlet. The airflow-guiding part is disposed at the same side of the airflow outlet of the fan module and in communication with the fan module. An airflow channel is defined by the airflow-guiding part. An airflow inhaled by the fan module is guided to a hotspot region of the electronic device through the airflow channel so as to remove the heat generated from the hotspot region. The airflow shunt part is formed on the airflow-guiding part. The airflow shunt part defines a stopping block in the airflow channel. A portion of the airflow is hindered by the stopping block and guided into a sub-hotspot region of the electronic device so as to remove the heat generated from the sub-hotspot region.

Airflow-adjustable active heat-dissipating mechanism and electronic device having same

An output voltage detecting circuit includes a conducting structure, a voltage regulator, a first resistor and a second resistor. The conducting structure includes a power output return terminal, a first contact and a second contact. A compensating voltage is generated between the first and second contacts when an output current flows through the first and second contacts. The voltage regulator adjusts a first current according to a voltage across a first circuit terminal and the ground terminal of the voltage regulator, thereby generating a detecting signal according to the first current. An output voltage across the positive power output terminal and the power output return terminal is subject to voltage division by the first and second resistors to generate a divided voltage. The voltage across the first circuit terminal and the ground terminal of the voltage regulator is equal to a difference between the divided voltage and the compensating voltage.

Output voltage detecting circuit and switching power supply having such output voltage detecting circuit

Disclosed is a synchronous forward converter having a reverse current suppressor connected to the gate of a freewheel switch. The reverse current suppressor is configured to receive a control input signal generated by an internal circuitry of a power supply system where the forward converter locates, such as an enable signal, to detect the power-off of the forward converter, and in response thereto turn off the freewheel switch during the interruption of the input power of the forward converter. Alternatively, the reverse current suppressor is configured to detect the decay of the input voltage across the input bulk capacitor located on the primary side of a transformer of the forward converter, and turn off the freewheel switch when the voltage across the secondary side of the transformer is decayed to be smaller than the output voltage of the forward converter.
