The present invention provides a projector including a laser module and a lens module, wherein the lens module includes a plurality of lens and a plurality of diffractive optical elements. In the operations of the projector, the laser module is arranged to generate at least one laser beam; each of the lenses is arranged to receive one of the at least one laser beam to generate a collimated laser beam; and the diffractive optical elements correspond to the lenses, respectively, and each of the diffractive optical elements is arranged to receive the collimated laser beam from the corresponding lens to generate an image. The images generated by the diffractive optical elements form a projected image of the projector. By using the projector of the present invention, the projected image may have higher resolution or field of view that is advantageous for the 3D sensing system.

Multi-image projector and electronic device having multi-image projector

A liquid crystal element includes a substrate, a diffractive optical element layer, and a liquid crystal material. The diffractive optical element layer has an uneven surface. The liquid crystal material is between the substrate and the uneven surface of the diffractive optical element layer. The liquid crystal material is disposed contiguously with the uneven surface of the diffractive optical element layer.

Optical surface mapping system

An optical device including a Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) light source and a lens array is provided. The VCSEL light source is configured to emit light with at least one light dot. The lens array is configured to receive light emitting from the VCSEL light source and then project a structured light. The structured light includes a dot pattern having number of light dots. Plural convex lenses are arranged along a first surface of the lens array. The convex lenses are configured to generate the light dots of the dot pattern.

An illuminator including a light source and an optical device is provided. The light source is configured to emit light. The optical device is configured to provide uniform illumination with at least one indicating mark after receiving light. The optical device includes a diffusing part and a directing part. The diffusing part is configured to provide uniform illumination. The directing part is configured to provide at least one indicating mark.

Illuminator

A depth sensing apparatus and an operation method thereof are provided. The depth sensing apparatus includes a projector, multiple cameras, and an image processing circuit. The projector includes a diffraction optical element (DoE) and a light source module. Rays of the light source module selectively pass through at least one of multiple projection style regions of the DoE so as to generate a projection pattern, and the projection pattern is projected to a field. The cameras respectively shoot the projection pattern projected to the field to obtain multiple images. The image processing circuit processes the images to obtain multiple depth maps. The image processing circuit at least merges the depth maps to generate a final depth map of the field.

Depth sensing apparatus and operation method thereof

The present invention provides a projector including a light-emitting device, a diffraction optical element (DOE) and a switchable diffuser. The light-emitting device is arranged for generating a laser beam. The switchable diffuser is controlled by a control signal to diffuse or scatter received lights or not diffuse or scatter the received lights, wherein the laser beam passes through the DOE and the switchable diffuser to generate an output image of the projector.

The present invention provides a projector, wherein the projector includes a light-emitting device, a lens module having a diffuser part and a lens part, and a DOE. In the operations of the projector, the light-emitting device is arranged for generating at least one laser beam, and the at least one laser beam passes through the diffuser part and the DOE to illuminate a field of view, and the at least one laser beam passes through the lens part and the DOE to generate a plurality of dots.

Projector, electronic device having projector, and method for obtaining depth information of image data

The present invention provides an electronic device, wherein the electronic device includes a projector and a controller. The projector includes a laser module and a lens module with a cover glass, wherein a laser beam generated from the laser module passes through the lens module to generate a projected image. The controller is coupled to the projector, and is arranged for determining if the cover glass is broken to generate a determination result, and controlling a power of the laser module according to the determination result.

Method for controlling projector and associated electronic device

An equipment for testing a plurality of projector modules is provided, wherein the equipment includes a screen, a mask, at least one camera and a controller. The mask is positioned between the screen and the projector modules when the projector modules are within the equipment, and the mask is arranged to mask a plurality of projected images generated by the projector modules so that only a portion of projected images is allowed to be projected to the screen. The camera is arranged for capturing the portion of projected images on the screen. The controller is coupled to the camera, and is arranged for analyzing the captured images to control settings of the projector modules.

A packaging structure of a laser diode is provided. The packaging structure of the laser diode includes a laser chip, a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate having a first electrode and a second electrode on a first surface of the first substrate, and the laser chip is disposed on the first surface of the first substrate; and a second substrate having a third electrode and a fourth electrode on a second surface of the second substrate, wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are electrically connected to the third electrode and the fourth electrode by a wireless-bonding process, respectively.

Packaging structure of laser diode

An automatic alignment apparatus applicable to assembly of an optical output module and associated methods are provided. The automatic alignment apparatus includes: an alignment tool, a beam splitter, cameras, and a processing circuit. The alignment tool is arranged to hold parts of the optical output module, and align the parts to each other according to at least one movement control signal, where the parts include a radiation source module and an optical component module. The cameras capture images to generate image signals carrying the images, and the beam splitter splits the optical path into associated sub-paths. The processing circuit generates at least one movement control signal according to at least one image signal within the image signals to perform movement control of at least one part of the parts. The alignment tool automatically aligns the parts to each other according to the at least one movement control signal.
