Examples of a patch antenna are described herein. Some examples of the patch antenna include a parallelepipedal antenna holder. In some examples, a first excitation surface is situated on a first side of the antenna holder, where a second side opposite the first side is situated on a metal plane. A grounding surface is situated on a third side between the first side and the second side. An excitation radiator feed is situated to provide electromagnetic coupling between the excitation radiator feed and the first excitation surface.

The present subject matter describes antennas. In an example of the present subject matter, an antenna comprises a patch antenna element having a radiating surface. Two slots are formed on the radiating surface, each of the two slots having an open circuit edge and a short circuit edge.

Slotted patch antennas

A computer device including integrated communications antennas is disclosed. In the computer device, a first antenna is disposed above a display panel in a hinge-up portion of the laptop computer, and a second antenna is disposed below the display panel. A signal divider circuit is coupled to a radio module, wherein the signal divider circuit is configured to send a first frequency range to the first antenna via a flat printed circuit radio frequency (FPC RF) cable, and a second frequency range to the second antenna.

Antennas in thin devices

Examples of display devices are described. In an example, a display device may comprise a display panel, a supporting frame to hold the display panel within a housing of the display device, and a push-button assembly. In an example, the push-button assembly comprises a tubular member having a first end and a second end. The first end is located on an external surface of the housing, while the second ends abuts a surface of the display panel. An actuator may be slidably disposed within the tubular member. Upon actuation, the actuator may slide outward of the second end to disengage the display panel from the supporting frame.

The present subject matter describes an antenna positioned inside a frame for a display panel of an electronic device. In an example implementation, the antenna comprises a cuboidal antenna holder having a first excitation surface and a second excitation surface perpendicular to the first excitation surface.

In one example, a base cover for a lower housing of a convertible device is described, which may include a metal body and an antenna window attached to the metal body. The antenna window may include a non-metallic structure and a metallic structure disposed within the non-metallic structure such that the metallic structure corresponds to an antenna slot defined in an upper housing of the convertible device.

The present subject matter describes positioning of an antenna in an electronic device. The antenna includes an antenna holder spanning within a length of a slot for a hinge of the electronic device or spanning within a length of the hinge.

Electronic devices with antennas

The present subject matter describes positioning of an antenna inside a frame for a display panel of an electronic device. The antenna comprises a ground plate extending along a side of the frame, a substrate positioned on the ground plate, and two loop antenna elements formed on the substrate, both ends of each of the two loop antenna elements being connected to the ground plate.

Examples of antenna elements are described herein. In an example, the antenna element may include a substrate for being disposed on an enclosure. The substrate may include a ground plane. Further, the antenna element may include an antenna feeder that may be electrically coupled to the ground plane. The antenna element may also include a radiator. The radiator may be electrically coupled to the antenna feeder. In addition, the antenna element may include a lump component connected to the radiator.

An example base cover for a lower housing of a convertible computing device includes a first metallic structure positioned in the lower housing, and a second metallic structure electrically isolated from the first metallic structure. The second metallic structure is positioned in the lower housing and directly below an antenna slot defined in an upper housing of the convertible computing device when the upper housing is positioned over and parallel to the lower housing.

The present invention relates to an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna, which comprises: a rectangular aperture portion, formed from a ground plane of a printed circuit board and having an aperture; and a co-plane feeding structure, having a horizontal portion and a vertical portion, wherein the vertical portion is perpendicular to the horizontal portion, and the vertical portion is disposed in the aperture and connected with an external terminal. The ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna of the present invention can receive the wireless signal with 3.1&#x2dc;10.6 GHz band, and have a very compact area (13 mm&#xd7;23 mm) and is easy to be mass produced. Furthermore, a parasitism element can be added into the co-plane feeding structure, so as to reject the in-band interferences from the existing systems like 5&#x2dc;6 GHz signals of wireless LAN.
