An antenna apparatus for a mobile communication terminal to achieve better portability and to prevent damage from careless handling by a user. The antenna is installed inside a main body of the mobile terminal, to render more room for accommodating its components. The antenna apparatus includes the main body having therein a main board, a keypad assembly provided with a plurality of key tops formed exposedly on the upper surface of the main body, and an antenna section disposed, between the main board and the keypad assembly, opposite to and in the vicinity of the lower end of the main body. The antenna section is comprised of an antenna sheet disposed underneath the keypad assembly.

Antenna apparatus for mobile communication terminal

A diversity antenna apparatus for a portable wireless terminal is provided with a main body having a main board installed therein and a folder electrically connected to the main board by a flexible printed data cable so as to be rotatably opened from and closed into the main body. The antenna apparatus includes a first antenna protruding from first side of an upper end of the main body so as to perform a transmitting and receiving function and a second antenna installed on a second side of an upper end of the main board and separated from the first antenna so as to perform a diversity receiving function. The diversity antenna is separated from the antenna apparatus by a sufficient distance, thereby improving a diversity effect. Further, the diversity antenna is installed within a space in the main body of the terminal, thereby not requiring a structural change and being easily installed in the portable wireless terminal.

Diversity antenna apparatus for portable wireless terminal

A dual band antenna for a mobile communication system which includes: a metal tube having an open end; a coaxial feed line having inner and outer conductors, with one portion of the coaxial line inserted into the metal tube, a ground plane connected to a portion of the metal tube opposite the open end and to the outer conductor of the coaxial feed line, and, a signal line electrically coupled to the inner conductor and protruding from the metal tube at the open end thereof. Preferably, the dimensions of the metal tube, the coaxial feed line and the signal line are selected such that the antenna is impedance matched to the coaxial feed line over the dual operating band, thereby obviating the need for a separate matching network.
