A retrofittable panel board () for an electric apparatus is provided. A bracket assembly () is affixed to a backwall () of an enclosure () of the panel board. Bracket assembly () includes guide tracks () defining restraint locations () to provide an adjustable height. A mount assembly (), providing mounting support to an interior assembly () and in turn to circuit breakers, is movable by way of the guide tracks with respect to the bracket assembly. An affixing element () is disposed in each guide track and connected to the mount assembly. When loosened, affixing elementmay be arranged to travel connected with the mount assembly along the guide track to a desired restraint location. When tightened, affixing elementmay be arranged to fixedly secure the mount assembly to the bracket assembly at the desired restraint location to provide a desired height position to the mount assembly with respect to the backwall of the enclosure.

A fastener retainer for one or more thumb nuts. The fastener retainer includes a retainer body including a first retaining surface and a second retaining surface opposed to the first retaining surface and configured to form an open-sided retaining feature that allows a thumb nut to rotate therein and translate along an axial axis, yet restrains the thumb nut from lateral motion and allows finger and thumb access via side openings of the open-sided retaining feature to turn the thumb nut. An angled plug-on neutral connector assembly of a circuit breaker. Angled plug-on neutral connector assembly includes a molded case including a bottom plane and a retaining portion, and a neutral connector received and constrained in the retaining portion, the neutral connector including a connector body including first and second prongs, and an opening between the prongs configured to receive a neutral bar. The opening is oriented in an angled orientation to the bottom plane, as defined by a connector angle measured between the bottom plane and a bisector line between the first and second prongs, wherein the connector angle is between about 30 degrees and about 70 degrees. A circuit breaker including a housing and a short wired pigtail exiting the housing. The short wired pigtail has a factory length from a point of exit from the housing to a terminal end of less than about 16 cm, and can include pre-configured bends, and may be pre-stripped. In another aspect, a base pan for mounting a circuit breaker is provided. Base pan includes a plurality of busses, and an insulating base portion receiving the busses, the base pan configured to receive a circuit breaker thereon, the insulating base portion including a pigtail guide channel configured to direct a short wired pigtail towards a neutral bar socket as the circuit breaker is mounted to the insulating base portion. An electrical distribution system having a meter socket, load center combination apparatus is disclosed. The meter socket, load center combination apparatus has an enclosure having a meter socket section with a meter socket configured to receive an owner utility meter, an owner load center with a plurality of locations configured to receive circuit interface devices, and a combination cross bus connection section extending between sides of the enclosure, the cross bus connection section having one or more side openings configured to allow electrical connection to one or more main cross bus bars of a main panel, a parallel energy source disconnect, and a parallel energy source coupled to the parallel energy source disconnect. Methods of configuring electrical distribution systems are disclosed, as are other aspects.

The meter socket, load center combination apparatus has an enclosure having a meter socket section with a meter socket configured to receive a utility meter, a load center section having a panelboard with a plurality of locations configured to receive circuit interface devices, and a cross-bus connection section extending between first and second sides of the enclosure, the cross bus connection section having one or more side openings configured to allow electrical connection to one or more cross bus bars, and a main circuit breaker coupled between the panelboard and the meter socket. The present invention relates generally to electrical panels or enclosures. More particularly, the invention encompasses a removable endwall plate for electrical panels or enclosures. The present invention is also directed to a novel electrical panel or enclosure where an endwall is removably attached to a frame. The endwall can be removed and can be cut at desired locations to create holes or openings for electrical components. The removable endwall can also have one or more knockouts which can be removed from the endwall as needed. One could also have at least one knockout within the knockout.

A retention snap arrangement for attaching a bus bar to a base pan. The arrangement includes first and second walls for forming a channel for receiving the bus bar. The arrangement further includes a first moveable arm having a first snap element that includes a first bottom surface and a second moveable arm having a second snap element that includes a second bottom surface. The first and second arms extend from the first and second walls, respectively, each forming a cantilever. In a first position, the first and second bottom surfaces are located above an edge of the bus bar for inhibiting movement of the bus bar. In a second position, the first and second bottom surfaces are not located above the edge of the bus bar to enable insertion of the bus bar in the channel.

An interior assembly for a three phase load center. The interior assembly includes a base pan having at least one first module that includes a first receptacle portion and a first base portion. The base pan also includes at least one second module having a second receptacle portion and a second base portion. Each receptacle portion includes a receptacle wall having a receptacle edge portion. Each base portion includes a base wall having a base edge portion wherein upon insertion of the second base portion into the first receptacle portion the receptacle and base edge portions engage to attach the first module to the second module and form a modular base pan. The base pan further includes a bus bar located on a back side of the first and second modules and a plurality of insulators for insulating the bus bar.

The present invention relates generally to a mounting bracket for a modular panel. More particularly, the invention encompasses a quick roll mounting bracket for modular panels. The quick roll mounting bracket for a modular panel provides an easier/improved means for an installer to install a modular panel and to electrically and mechanically couple the modular panels together. The inventive roller bracket helps guide the modular panel during the coupling process by providing at least one wheel or a rolling interface to an otherwise metallic or metal-to-metal interface. The wheel or a rolling interface could be secured to the modular panel via at least one mounting bracket or via at least one spacer or at least one emboss.

A cover for use with a panelboard enclosure. The cover includes a cover element for mounting onto a panelboard enclosure. The cover element includes an insert for insertion into a cover opening. A plate section is attached to the insert along peripheral edges of the plate section by a thin wall section to form a cover suitable for use with a main lug panelboard configuration. The thin wall section is sized relative to the plate section to enable separation of the plate section from the insert by a user to then form a cover suitable for use with a main breaker panelboard configuration.

A spring-loaded captive fastener retainer provides a user-friendly system to mechanically fasten units (e.g. panels, cabinets, etc.) to other units. Generally, the retainer is spring-loaded to force a fastener to extend beyond the unit. The retainer has a housing that provides guidance to the fastener so that it is secured within the unit and travels in a predictable path.

The present invention relates generally to a lay-in lug nut plate retainer. More particularly, the invention encompasses a nut plate retainer for a lay-in lug assembly nut plate. The present invention is also directed to a novel lay-in nut plate retainer which provides an alternative way to secure a nut plate to a lay-in lug body during shipping and/or the installation process. The inventive nut plate retainer has a cover with an open area and at least two legs to surround a portion of the lay-in lug and the nut plate.

A positioning block and method for spacing riser bus bars includes an insulating material body forming recesses along a longitudinal axis of the block, each recess for receiving an electric riser bus bar therein. A binding feature is formed adjacent to at least one wall of the recesses for securing the riser bus bar within the recess. A locator feature is formed between the walls of each recess for aligning the riser bus bar within the recess.

A lay-in lug has two spaced apart and substantially parallel lug walls. A nut plate is supported between the first lug wall and the second lug wall. A plate retainer exerts force on a lug wall and restricts the plate from moving in a direction substantially parallel to the first and second lug walls. The plate retainer has a flexible retaining base and a pair of retaining legs extending from the retaining base. Snap protrusions extend from each of the retaining legs and are formed to interlock with a portion of the wall of the lay-in lug and restrict movement the nut plate. The plate retainer either snaps around the edge of the lug wall or along the wall's length. It may also clip around the nut plate and prevents its movement in a direction along the inner surfaces of the lug walls.
