Methods and systems for controlling substances flowing through in an inner diameter of a tool

A protective sleeve for a ball activated device, the ball activated device comprising a seat sleeve axially movable between an initial state in which seat defining members are configured to form a fluid tight seal with a ball and a final state in which the seat defining members are allowed to enter into a seat receiving recess such that the ball is permitted to pass. In the initial state, the protective sleeve extends axially from the seat sleeve over the seat receiving recess. The protective sleeve can be connected in the extension of the seat sleeve through a rotation lock, and ensures that particles and scaling do not build up in the seat receiving recess. The invention prevents that particles are collected behind the seat defining members and prevent these and other movable parts from moving. The protective sleeve is thus particularly suitable for applications such as cementing or fracturing.

Protective sleeve for ball activated device

Two well tools () having centrally mounted drive shafts () are provided with a mechanism to remove debris from a coupling between them. Thereafter, the tools can be coupled by inserting a first outer sleeve () on the first tool into and rotationally lock it to a second outer sleeve () on the second tool. The drive shafts () are coupled in a similar manner. The mechanism for removing debris can displace the debris and/or a flushing device () using well fluid to stir up debris. The coupling has space for debris that is not removed, e.g. in the form of a chamber. The female part of the coupling may comprise a spring loaded lid () to reduce pollution by debris when the coupling is not in use.

Coupling between wellbore tools having central transmission shafts

A well plug having a flexible expandable sealing () and a metallic anchor () which can be moved radially out or in by rotating a leadscrew () in opposite directions. The well plug has a ball valve in a central longitudinal passage, which is kept open whenever the leadscrew () rotates. This increases the accuracy when setting the plug, and reduces the risk for the plug moving uncontrolled in the well bore during setting or retrieval. The ball valve can be opened or closed by rotating a transmitting shaft () within an angle of free motion, before the leadscrew is pulled along in the rotation. A ball valve for high pressure applications is also shown.
