The present invention teaches multilayer cleaning articles that include a substantially dry surface contact layer and a gripping layer. The contact layer may represent one exposed major face of the cleaning article (e.g., a cleaning pad), while the gripping layer may represent the opposite exposed major face of the cleaning article. The contact layer may include abrasive synthetic fibers, so as to be effective in scrubbing soils and spills from a surface. The contact layer includes a cleaning composition pre-loaded therein. The cleaning composition is such that the contact layer feels dry to the touch prior to use, before wetting with water. The cleaning composition may include about 1% to about 40% by weight water. The gripping layer includes at least 40% by weight of pulp fibers (e.g., natural cellulose pulp fiber), and exhibits a mean hand grip value that is at least 0.015/in(reciprocal inches squared).

An all-in-one cleaning device, e.g., such as may be used in cleaning the inside of a shower. The device may provide the ability to dispense the composition carried within the device itself, and scrub the composition into or against the surfaces to be cleaned (e.g., shower walls, floors, corners, etc.). Activation of the dispensing mechanism of the cleaning device may dispense a metered dose of composition, in a generally horizontal direction, onto and/or into a nonwoven or other substrate. The dispensing mechanism may not rely on gravity for dispensing, and may be sealed to prevent unwanted backflow of shower water or other material, preventing contamination.

In one example, a wipe dispensing system includes a housing that defines an internal wipe storage area, a mixing element having an opening that communicates with the wipe storage area, a fluid reservoir disposed within the housing, a pump in communication with the fluid reservoir, a nozzle in communication with the pump and located proximate the opening of the mixing element such that an outlet of the nozzle is in communication with the opening of the mixing element, and a pump actuation mechanism operably connected with the pump and responsive to initiation of the dispensation of a wipe from the wipe dispensing system.

An aqueous aerosol bathroom cleaner includes a surfactant, a water-soluble or dispersible organic solvent, a chelating agent and a propellant that comprises n-butane. Comparative data demonstrate that the presence of n-butane in the composition enhances the rate of bathroom soap scum removal relative to aerosol compositions that do not contain n-butane in the propellant. The amount of surfactant present is sufficient so that the composition develops a stable foam upon being dispensed onto a soiled bathroom hard surface. The foam collapses after 10 to 60 seconds to deliver the cleaning components onto the surface.
