Transmit power control methods and apparatus are disclosed. In several embodiments, a mobile terminal is configured to effectively ignore 'UP' transmit power control commands in the event that the mobile terminal is operating in a power-limited state. In an exemplary method for controlling transmit power at a mobile terminal, a plurality of transmit power control commands are received. An accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to each transmit power control command that directs a negative adjustment in transmit power. However, the accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to a transmit power control command that directs a positive adjustment in transmit power only if the mobile terminal is not in a power-limited state. Transmit power settings for each transmission are calculated based on the accumulated power control value and the one or more radio link parameters.

Uplink power control for power limited terminals

The present invention relates to a method, user equipment and a base station adapted to handle channel state feed-back reports in a more flexible way. More specifically, a channel state feedback procedure is provided which utilizes the resources available for transmission of channel state feedback more efficiently. This is achieved by including uplink grant availability into the channel state feedback reporting triggers used for determining when and how to send channel state feedback from a UE, i.e. a channel state feedback reporting request may be sent by a base station in an uplink grant to a UE comprising an indication of an expected amount of information to be returned.

Scheduling requests are transmitted from a mobile terminal to a base station. The mobile sends a first scheduling request to the base station, the first scheduling request being associated with first data to be transmitted to the base station. The mobile receives a scheduling grant from the base station in response to the first scheduling request and transmits a buffer status report to the base station in response to receiving the scheduling grant. An HARQ acknowledgment for the buffer status report is received. Second data is received for transmission to the base station while at least some of the first data is waiting to be transmitted to the base station. A change in a buffer status of the mobile terminal is detected indicating that the second data has higher priority than the first data. The mobile transmits a second subsequent scheduling request to the base station in response to the change in buffer status.

Methods and systems for scheduling resources in a telecommunication system

Aspects of the present invention relate to the scheduling of resources in a telecommunication system that includes a mobile terminal and base station. In one embodiment, the mobile terminal sends an initial scheduling request to a base station. Subsequently, the mobile terminal does not transmit a scheduling request to the base station unless and until a scheduling request triggering event is detected.

Control channel quality based scheduling of radio transmissions For controlling radio transmission in a mobile network, a node () of the mobile network determines a channel quality of a downlink control channel of a cell () of the mobile network, as experienced by a certain user equipment (-) in the cell (). Depending on the determined channel quality of the downlink control channel, the node () schedules at least one radio transmission on a data channel of the cell (). On the downlink control channel, the node () indicates radio resources allocated for the scheduled at least one radio transmission.

Control channel quality based scheduling of radio transmissions

A method and a radio network node () for scheduling a transmission from the radio network node () to a user equipment () are provided. The radio network node () obtains an indication of interference mitigation in a receiver in the user equipment (). Next, the radio network node () selects a set of radio resources for the transmission based on the indication of interference mitigation, thereby scheduling the transmission.

Methods and network nodes for determining an indication of interference mitigation and for scheduling a transmission

The invention relates to handover of a mobile station from a source cell to a target cell in a wireless communication network. According to the invention communication improving data in relation to communication between the source cell and the mobile station is collected by a communication improving node prior to handover and communication improving physical layer data being at least based on said collected communication improving data is transferred to a device handling communication between the target cell and the mobile station. The communication handling device then uses the communication improving physical layer data to improve the quality of the initial communication between the mobile station and the target cell after handover to the target cell.

A method and a network node () for determining an indication of interference mitigation in a receiver comprised in a user equipment () are provided. The network node () receives, from the user equipment (), a first set of measures and a second set of measures. The first set of measures relates to a signal received by the user equipment () and the second set of measures relates to the same signal. The first set of measures was obtained by the user equipment () prior to processing of the signal in the receiver, and the second set of measures was obtained by the user equipment () after processing of the signal in the receiver. Next, the network node () determines () the indication of interference mitigation based on the first and second sets of measures.

The present invention relates to allowing configuring CSI reporting (step S-) on radio resources that are allocated over a plurality of sub frames on Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH). Allocation of said radio resources (steps S-) can be performed by semi-persistent allocation or by using Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling. By using either semi-persistent scheduling or TTI-bundling as decided by an eNB () the UE () can be configured to report CSI (step S-) for a plurality of UL transmissions. By allocating radio resources by using semi-persistent scheduling, the signaling overhead, which can be substantial for dynamic scheduling of radio resources, decreases. By using TTI-bundling the coverage of the CSI-reports increases.

Method and apparatus for transmitting CSI on the PUSCH in an LTE system

In a cellular radio system a UE transmits CQI reports on a periodic basis and also transmits CQI reports upon a request from the radio base station. The UE is further adapted to cancel transmission of a periodic CQI report upon reception of a request for a requested CQI report.
