Process for the preparation of particles with antibacterial coating, which comprises the following steps: (a) providing an aqueous suspension containing a polyamine, a crosslinker and a porous organic or inorganic carrier material in particle form at a temperature lower than or equal to 10° C. in a mixer for coating the inorganic carrier material with the polyamine; (b) crosslinking the organic polymer in the pores of the inorganic carrier material and simultaneously removing water.

Particles with biocidal coating

A device for purifying drinking water in multiple stages by combining orthogonal purification technologies in one module is described, where the device comprises a housing, a water inlet opening, a water outlet opening, a hollow cylinder which is filled with activated carbon, and a hollow cylinder with a semipermeable wall, wherein the hollow cylinder contains a chelating bactericidal gel or a chelating and bactericidal gel for removing heavy metals or bacteria or for removing heavy metals and bacteria.

Device for purifying drinking water in multiple stages

The present invention relates to a method for producing biocidal, porous particles of a cross-linked polymer, and to the porous particles that can be produced according to the method of the invention. The invention further relates to porous particles of an amino-group-containing polymer (polyamine) having a relatively low swelling factor. The porous particles according to the invention are used to remove biological contaminants from water and to bind metal-containing ions from solutions. The present invention further relates to a filter cartridge which contains the porous cross-linked polymer particles according to the invention.

Removal of bacteria from drinking water via filtration

A method for producing porous particles of a cross-linked polymer, and porous particles that can be produced according to the method are disclosed. The porous particles of a crosslinked hydroxy- or amino-group-containing polymer have a relatively low swelling factor. A composite material contains the porous particles dispersed in a continuous aqueous phase. The porous particles, or the composite material, are used for purifying organic molecules and for bonding metals from solutions. A filter cartridge contains the porous particles of a cross-linked polymer or the composite material.
