The present invention relates to an assembly including an end-fitting for terminating an unbonded flexible pipe and an unbonded flexible pipe. The unbonded flexible pipe includes a first and a second armour layer co-axially arranged, and an electric heating system. The end-fitting includes means for mechanically anchoring the first armour layer to the end-fitting and includes electrical connections for connecting the first armour layer to a power-source. The end-fitting also includes means for mechanically anchoring the second armour layer to the end-fitting. The first and the second armour layers are electrically insulated from each other by at least one electrically insulating layer in the end-fitting and the end-fitting includes a local volume in the end-fitting adjacent to the electrically insulating layer adapted for injection of a functional fluid.

Assembly comprising an end-fitting for terminating an unbonded flexible pipe and an unbonded flexible pipe

The present invention relates to a method of testing an unbonded flexible pipe. The unbonded flexible pipe has a length and a longitudinal axis and comprises, from the inside and out, an internal armour layer, an internal pressure sheath, at least one external amour layer and an outer sheath. At least one of the layers comprises an optical sensor connected to an optical monitoring system and at least one of the armour layers is a metallic and electrically conductive amour layer. The method makes it possible to test an electrical heating system and an optical sensor substantially simultaneously.

Method of testing an unbonded flexible pipe

The present invention relates to a method and a system comprising a floating unit for processing, handling or storing a fluid and at least one unbonded flexible pipe for transporting said fluid to the floating unit. The unbonded flexible pipe comprises an electric heating system, and the temperature of the fluid in the unbonded flexible pipe is measured and the measured temperature is used to control the electrical input to the electric heating system in the unbonded flexible pipe.

Method and a system for controlling the temperature of a fluid in an unbonded flexible pipe

The invention concerns a flexible pipe for offshore applications, such as for use as a riser in oil production. The flexible pipe has a longitudinal axis and contains a pressure resilient core pipe structure with an inner surface defining a bore, and at least a pair of cross wound and non-bonded tensile armor layers surrounding said core pipe structure. The pressure resilient core pipe structure contains an embedded pressure armor structure, wherein the embedded pressure armor structure contains a plurality of layers of helically wound continuous fibers, wound with a winding angle of about 60 degrees or more relative to the longitudinal axis of the pipe and embedded in a cured polymer matrix. The fibers are individually bonded to the cured polymer matrix. Preferably each of said layers of helically wound continuous fibers have a fiber density of at least about 40%.

Flexible pipe

The invention relates to an elongate reinforcement element for reinforcing an unbonded flexible pipe, a method of producing the elongate reinforcement element and an unbonded flexible pipe comprising the elongate reinforcement element. The reinforcement element comprises a plurality of elongate armor strips and an elongate support element comprising a channel, wherein the plurality of elongate armor strips are arranged in the channel of the elongate support element. Preferably the elongate armor strips are arranged to be superimposed in the channel and the plurality of superimposed elongate armor strips are displaceable in relation to each other upon bending of the elongate reinforcement element.

Reinforcement element for an unbonded flexible pipe

The invention relates to a method of producing an unbonded flexible pipe and an unbonded flexible pipe. The method comprises providing an innermost sealing sheath defining a bore and a longitudinal axis, and a pressure armor layer surrounding the innermost sealing sheath. The pressure armor layer comprises at least one helically wound elongate armor element with at least one helical armor element gap between windings thereof, and the method comprises providing a foundation layer for the pressure armor layer. The foundation layer is provided with at least one helically shaped groove, and the elongate armor element is applied in the helically shaped groove, preferably such that the foundation layer at least partly fills the helical armor element gap, the foundation layer is preferably a fluid permeable foundation layer.

Method of producing an unbonded flexible pipe

A unbonded flexible pipe with a length and a longitudinal axis is described. The pipe comprises an innermost sealing sheath defining a bore, at least one armor layer surrounding the inner sealing sheath and at least one optical fiber containing layer, wherein the optical fiber containing layer comprises at least one tape and at least one optical fiber arranged with a length of at least about 3 times the length of the flexible pipe. In an embodiment the optical fiber is incorporated into the at least one tape of said optical fiber containing layer to provide an integrated fiber tape where advantageously the optical fiber is arranged with S-shaped folds.

The invention relates to a flexible pipe comprising an axis and a tubular innermost sealing sheath surrounding said axis, said innermost sealing sheath being surrounded by at least one outer armoring layer. The innermost sealing sheath has an inner side which is the side of the innermost sealing sheath comprising said axis. On the inner side of said innermost sealing sheath the flexible pipe comprises at least one carcass comprising a plurality of annular armoring members.

Flexible pipe and a method of producing a flexible pipe

The invention relates to a flexible unbonded pipe for sub sea fluid transfer. The pipe comprises an inner sealing sheath defining a bore and a center axis. Inside the inner sealing sheath the pipe comprises a carcass. The pipe further comprises a pair of reinforcement layers consisting essentially of helically wound elongate armoring elements of fiber reinforced polymer material. The elongate armoring elements of the innermost of the pair of reinforcement layers are wound in a first winding direction with an angle &#x3b1; to the center axis, and the elongate armoring elements of the outermost of the pair of reinforcement layers are wound in a second winding direction with an angle &#x3b2; to the center axis, wherein &#x3b1;&#x2267;&#x3b2;f&#x3c0;/2, &#x3b1; is about 65&#xb0; or less. The pipe preferably comprises an anti-creep layer placed between the inner sealing sheath and the innermost of the pair of reinforcement layers.

Flexible unbonded pipe

The invention relates to an unbonded flexible pipe with a length and a longitudinal axis. The pipe comprises an inner sealing sheath defining a bore, a pressure armor layer, an intermediate sealing sheath and a tensile armor. The pressure armor layer comprises at least one elongate metal element arranged with pressure armor gaps and is arranged in an annulus provided between the inner sealing sheath and the intermediate sealing sheath. The tensile armor is arranged on the outer side of the intermediate sealing sheath. Either the intermediate sealing sheath forms a drainage layer or the unbonded flexible pipe further comprises a drainage layer arranged in the annulus. The drainage layer comprises at least one drainage path arranged along the length of the pipe, wherein the drainage path is in fluid communication with the pressure armor gaps. The drainage layer optionally comprises a perforated tube.

Unbonded flexible pipe

The invention relates to a flexible armored pipe for transportation of fluids, comprising an inner sealing sheath and at least one displacement reduced armor layer comprising a plurality of elongate elements comprising at least a female type elongate element comprising at least one recess in each opposite side and a male type elongate element comprising at least one protruding tongue in each opposite side and wherein each of the female type and the male type elongate elements are substantially symmetrical in a symmetry line substantially normal to the inner sealing sheath when the pipe is in a non-bended state and where said protruding tongues of said male type elongate element windings are engaged in said recesses of adjacent female type elongate element windings.

Flexible armored pipe

The invention relates to a unbonded flexible pipe and a method for manufacturing such pipe. The unbonded flexible pipe has a length and a center axis along its length, and comprises an internal sealing sheath around its center axis, a carcass arranged inside the internal sealing sheath, and at least one armor arranged around the internal sealing sheath. The carcass comprises at least one helically wound elongate carcass reinforcement element providing a plurality of carcass reinforcement element windings along the length of the pipe wherein the carcass reinforcement element windings surround and/or are surrounded by a polymer structure, which polymer structure locks said carcass reinforcement element windings relative to each other. Accordingly the carcass reinforcement element windings need not be directly interlocked with each, but are mainly or totally locked to each other by the polymer structure.

The invention relates to a riser for transporting fluid between an upper facility and a subsea facility. The riser has a center axis and a length along the center axis and comprises an unbonded flexible metal armored riser section and an unbonded flexible composite armored riser section arranged in fluid connection to each other. The metal armored riser section comprises at least two cross-wound tensile armor layers each comprising a plurality of helically wound elongate metal armor elements wound with a winding angle of about 60 degree or less relative to the center axis. The composite armored riser section comprises at least one tensile armor layer comprising a plurality of helically wound elongate composite armor elements wound with a winding angle of about 60 degree or less relative to the center axis. The invention also relates to an offshore system comprising such riser.

Riser and an offshore system

An unbonded flexible pipe with a length and a center axis along its length includes an internal sealing sheath surrounding the center axis, and at least two tensile armor layers having cross wound elements surrounding the internal sealing sheath. The two tensile armor layers include a first tensile armoring layer having a plurality of first helically wound, elongate armoring elements, and a second tensile armoring layer having a plurality of second helically wound, elongate armoring elements. The first helically wound, elongate armoring elements consist of a first material or a first combination of materials and the second helically wound, elongate armoring elements consist of a second material or a second combination of materials, where the first material or the first combination of materials is different from the second material or the second combination of materials. The unbonded flexible pipe further includes a galvanic barrier layer between the first and the second tensile armoring layer.

An injection device for injection of set doses of medicine from a cartridge has a nut that is screwed up along a threaded piston rod during a dose setting operation. The nut is screwed along the piston rod by rotating a dose setting member. A rotational coupling mechanism includes an axially displaceable coupling member which is rotated as a function of axial displacement. During dose setting, the nut is allowed to rotate relative to the coupling member. During injection, the coupling member is rotationally locked to the nut. This provides a dose setting and injection mechanism wherein the nut member is both rotated during dose setting and during injection.
