Many embodiments of wound filling devices and methods of their use in systems for the application of negative pressure therapy are described herein. In one embodiment, a wound filling device comprises: an inflatable bag member having at least one fluid carrying conduit operably connected thereto to inflate/deflate said bag member; a separate textured covering sock member at least partially covering the inflatable bag member. Another embodiment comprises a three-dimensional wound packing member, and may optionally comprise a plurality of such members linked together. Certain embodiments of wound packing members may comprise a porous bag member adapted to be non-adherent to the wound. Yet other embodiments may comprise a non-porous bag member provided with means to connect a fluid supply to the interior.

Wound filling apparatuses and methods

Apparatus and a method for the provision of TNP therapy to a wound are described, the apparatus comprising: a sealing membrane () for covering a wound to form a wound cavity (); one end of an aspirant conduit () operably associated with the wound cavity, vacuum means () provided at a distal end of the aspirant conduit for applying a vacuum to the wound cavity; and, air bleed means () in fluid communication with the wound cavity. Various embodiments of air bleed port members are also described.

Apparatus for topical negative pressure therapy

A method and apparatus are disclosed for delivering at least one agent to a wound site. The method includes the steps of providing a delivery tube having an outlet at a wound site, covering the wound site with a drape and introducing agent at an agent inlet port of the delivery tube. The agent passes along the delivery tube through the drape to the wound site. The agent can be a wide variety or mixture of fluids such as but not limited to pain relief medicament, anti-biotics, saline solution and/or hydrating fluid.

Wound management

A negative pressure wound therapy apparatus that can include a wound dressing, a fluid collection device, a vacuum pump comprising a pump motor, and tubing can be powered by auxiliary power sources such as high efficiency batteries, photovoltaic panels or cells, fuel cells, combustion generators, human powered generators, or other mechanical, electrical, or chemical power sources such as hand operated dynamos or wound springs, or any combination of the foregoing. Additionally, the apparatus can include a high efficiency pressure controller for controlling the output of the vacuum pump. In some embodiments, the pressure controller can control the pump without using a processor, and can have other features such as an intermittent delay function and an anti-stall mechanism to reduce the energy consumption of the apparatus.

Auxiliary powered negative pressure wound therapy apparatuses and methods

A dressing (), a grommet () and a combination thereof are described for making a dressing for use in locating and retaining conduits and/or tubes used in therapy of a wound is described, the dressing () comprising a backing layer () having an adhesive coating () thereon for adhering the dressing () to a patient; the backing layer () having a cut-out () therein for receiving a grommet member (); said grommet member () having at least one aperture () therethrough for receiving a conduit; and, said grommet member () further comprising a flange portion () in some embodiments for attaching the grommet member () to said adhesive coated backing layer ().
