A hydraulic system for controlling the position of a movable jaw of a jaw crusher includes a hydraulic cylinder having a piston with a piston rod for positioning the movable jaw. The hydraulic cylinder has a bore side space for containing a hydraulic fluid taking up crushing forces exerted by the movable jaw on the piston rod, and an annular side space containing a hydraulic fluid pressing the piston against hydraulic fluid of the bore side space. The hydraulic system further includes an annular side space accumulator having a fluid compartment, which is in fluid contact with the annular side space, and a gas compartment containing a pressurized gas applying a pressure on the hydraulic fluid in the annular side space.

Hydraulic system for controlling a jaw crusher

A crusher system, including a first crushing surface and a second crushing surface which are operative to crush material between them. A hydraulic system is operative to adjust a gap between the first crushing surface and the second crushing surface by adjusting a position of the first crushing surface with a hydraulic cylinder connected to the first crushing surface. The hydraulic system includes an accumulator connected to the hydraulic cylinder by a hydraulic liquid conduit. The accumulator includes a hydraulic liquid chamber and a gas chamber separated from the hydraulic liquid chamber. The accumulator has a preloading pressure that is the pressure of the gas chamber when the hydraulic liquid chamber is empty, which is at least 0.3 MPa lower than a mean operating pressure of the hydraulic cylinder, such that the accumulator is active and variations occurring in the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic cylinder during operation of the crusher system are attenuated.

Attenuation of pressure variations in crushers

A crushing apparatus has a gyratory crusher, which has an inner shell, an outer shell and an eccentric. A lubricating system is arranged to conduct a lubricant to at least one movable part, such as the eccentric of the gyratory crusher. The lubricating system has an oil sump, which collects the lubricant after it has been used for lubrication of the movable part, and a valve mechanism, which is arranged to apportion a lubricant flow in the crusher. The valve mechanism is arranged to assume a first position, in which a first sub-volume of the lubricant flow is conducted directly to the movable part for lubrication of the same and a second sub-volume is conducted directly to the oil sump, the second sub-volume constituting from about 30 to about 100% of the lubricant flow, and a second position, in which at least about 90% of the lubricant flow is conducted to the movable part for lubrication of the same.
