Surface elements comprising a decorative upper layer and a supporting core are disclosed. In such surface elements the decorative upper layer can comprise a digitally applied wood grain pattern made up of at least four colors, said pattern being applied to an underlying white ground coating provided on said supporting core, said pattern comprising at least one of visually simulated knots, cracks, flaws and grain. In such surface elements the decorative upper layer can further comprise an at least partly translucent wear layer arranged over said pattern, said wear layer consisting of a cured substance comprising silicon oxide. In such surface elements the decorative upper layer can further be provided with a surface structure increasing the realism of said wood grain pattern, being directed in accordance with the direction of said pattern and being in the form of narrow elongated recesses simulating the pores of wood.

Process for the manufacturing of surface elements

Processes for manufacturing surface elements are disclosed. The surface elements can comprise a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. Processes for manufacturing such surface elements can comprise obtaining a decor at least by digitization of a number of archetypes selected from woods and minerals by making a high resolution digital picture of said archetypes, storing said decor digitally, manufacturing a plurality of supporting cores, each being of rectangular shape and each having a size essentially equaling only one desired end user format and provided with an upper side and a lower side, editing said decor to fit said shape and size of each one of said plurality of supporting cores, and digitally applying different patterns on each of said plurality of supporting cores, wherein said patterns are selected and parted from said decor and said decor is used to control said digitally applying the different patterns.

Processes for manufacturing surface elements are provided. The surface elements can comprise a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. Processes for manufacturing such surface elements can comprise manufacturing a supporting core having an upper side, treating said upper side of said supporting core, including at least one of the steps of ground coating with a primer, sanding and providing said upper side with a surface structure, applying a digitally printed d&#xe9;cor comprising inks of at least four colors directly on top of the ground coating by an ink-jet type printer, said digitally printed decor being one of wood or mineral, and providing and curing a protecting and at least partly translucent wear layer on the upper side of the supporting core.

Processes for manufacturing surface elements are provided. The surface elements can include a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. Processes for manufacturing such surface elements can comprise manufacturing a supporting core having a format essentially equaling the desired end user format and provided with an upper side and a lower side, providing a ground coating on the supporting core, and applying a digitally printed d&#xe9;cor comprising inks of at least four colors directly on top of the ground coating by means of an ink-jet type printer, said four colors comprising one or more colors different from cyan, magenta, yellow and black; said digitally printed d&#xe9;cor being one of wood or mineral, and providing and curing an at least partly translucent wear layer on the upper side of the supporting core.

A joint for panels, the panels comprising a core, a decorative upper surface and edges provided with joining means for positioning the panels towards one another. Predetermined portions of the edges are provided with a layer of polymer. The panels are joined to one another by use of the joining means where the polymer forms a seal in the joint preventing penetration of water into the joint wherein a highly water resistant unit of a plurality of panels is formed.

A process for the manufacturing of surface elements is provided herein. The surface elements can include a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. A supporting core with a desired format can be manufactured by press molding and provided with an upper side and a lower side. The upper side of the supporting core can be provided with a structure by a momentary pressing operation using a surface structured matrix. A ground coating can be provided on the structured upper side of the supporting core. A digitally printed decor comprising inks of at least four colors can be applied directly on top of the ground coating by an ink-jet type printer. The structure of the supporting core can enhance the realism of the decor, wherein the decor can be selected from the group consisting of woods and minerals.

A process for the manufacturing of surface elements is provided herein. The surface elements can include a decorative upper layer and a supporting core. A supporting core with a desired format is manufactured and provided with an upper side and a lower side. The upper side of the supporting core is provided with a d&#xe9;cor, by for example printing, which d&#xe9;cor is positioned after a predetermined fixed point on the supporting core. The upper side of the supporting core is provided with a protecting, at least partly translucent, wear layer by for example spray coating, roller coating, curtain coating and immersion coating or by being provided with one or more sheets of &#x3b1;-cellulose impregnated with thermosetting resin or lacquer.

A process for the manufacturing of a decorative surface element, which element comprises a base layer and a decorative upper surface. A radiation curing lacquer is printed in a predetermined pattern as an uppermost layer on the decorative upper surface. The radiation curing lacquer covers only parts of the decorative upper surface whereby the lacquer is exposed to radiation whereby it cures. A surface structure is hereby achieved.

Process for the manufacturing of surface elements with a structured top surface

A process for the manufacture of a decorative surface element, which element comprises a base layer, a decor and a wear layer of a UV or electron beam curing lacquer. One or more structured surfaces, forming embossing surfaces of one or more rollers or moulds, are positioned on top of the decorative lacquered surface, possibly after having cured the lacquer to a desired viscosity, and are continuously or discontinuously pressed on to this. The lacquer will be provided with a surface structure which enhances the decorative effect of the decor. The wear layer is then completely cured.

Process for manufacture of surface elements

A process for the manufacture of a decorative board, which board, on its upper surface includes a decorative layer and a wear layer of cellulose and thermosetting amino resin. A decorative layer and wear layer is applied as a surface layer on a base layer and bonded thereto by pressing under elevated temperature and pressure in a laminate press. The wear layer, the decor layer and the base layer are arranged to form a stack of layers. The stack of layers are fed into a laminate press and pressed therein under heat and pressure where at least the upper surface becomes heated. The decorative board is acquired from the laminate press whereupon a forced cooling of the decorative board is initiated in order to bring the surface temperature of the decorative board down.

Process for the manufacture of a decorative laminate

A process for the manufacture of a decorative board, which board includes at least one thermosetting resin impregnated paper layer. A decor paper in the form of a web or a sheet, provided with a plurality of decor sections, each decor section being intended to constitute a d&#xe9;cor of a decorative panel, is placed as a surface layer on a base layer and bonded thereto by pressing under elevated pressure. A plurality of press plates or press foils, each press plate or press foil being provided with a surface structure intended to match at least one decor section of the decor paper, are accurately positioned on top of the thermosetting impregnated paper layer before the pressing and is after the pressing separated from the laminate achieved. The laminate will hereby be provided with a d&#xe9;cor surface with a matching surface structure which is in register with the d&#xe9;cor of the decor paper.
