Systems and methods are provided for providing media content based on playback zone awareness. In one aspect, a computing system receives, via a network interface, zone data from the media playback system, wherein the zone data includes an indication of a particular zone of the media playback system, and wherein the particular zone comprises at least one playback device. The computing system identifies audio content based on (i) the indication of the particular zone and (ii) contextual data associated with the particular zone, and provides, via the network interface, an indication of the identified audio content to the media playback system.

Media content based on playback zone awareness

Systems and methods are provided for providing media content based on playback zone awareness. In one aspect a server associated with a service provider may be configured to receive zone data identifying a name of a zone associated with a playback device, identify, based on the zone data, media content based on the zone data, and provide the media content to the playback device. In another aspect, a playback device may be configured to associate the playback device with a zone, and provide to a service provider zone data identifying a name of the zone associated with the playback device. In yet another aspect, a controller device may be configured to receive an input identifying a playback zone, and sending to a service provider, a message including zone data identifying the playback zone.

Systems and methods are provided for providing audio content based on playback zone awareness. In an example implementation, a computing system receives, from a media playback system, (i) zone data that identifies a particular zone of the media playback system and (ii) a request to identify audio content based on the zone data. In response to receiving the request to identify audio content, the computing device identifies audio content based on the zone data. The computing device sends, to the media playback system, an indication of the audio content identified based on the zone data, which may be played back by one or more playback devices of the media playback system.

In an example implementation, a media playback system receives input data indicating selection of a particular zone, where the media playback system includes one or more zones, and where the one or more zones include respective playback devices. The media playback system sends, to a service provider, (i) zone data that identifies the particular zone of the media playback system, wherein the zone data indicates that the particular zone is selected and (ii) a request to identify audio content based on the zone data and receives, from the service provider, an indication of audio content identified based on the zone data.

Systems and methods are provided for providing audio content based on playback zone awareness. In an example implementation, a computing system receives, via one or more network interfaces, zone data that identifies a particular zone of a media playback system, where the zone data indicates a selection of the particular zone, and where the particular zone includes one or more playback devices. The computing system identifies audio content based on the zone data. Identifying audio content based on the zone data may involve determining that particular audio content is preferred in the particular zone and identifying audio content corresponding to the particular audio content that is preferred in the particular zone. After identifying the audio content, the computing system provides an indication of the identified audio content to the media playback system.

In an example implementation, a computing system receives zone data that identifies a particular zone of a playback system, where the particular zone includes one or more playback devices. The computing system identifies audio content based on the zone data. Identifying audio content may involve determining that particular audio content is preferred in the particular zone and identifying audio content corresponding to the particular audio content that is preferred in the particular zone. After identifying the audio content, the computing system provides an indication of the identified audio content to the playback system. The computing system receives data indicating audio items that were selected from the identified audio content via the playback system and provides an indication of the audio items that were selected from the identified audio content, the indication comprising respective sources from which the audio items are retrievable by the playback system.
