Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine readable mediums which provide for device discovery and P2P negotiation in infrastructure mode and then a transition to P2P mode. This allows devices to take advantage of the robustness and improved device discovery of infrastructure mode and the reduced latency of P2P mode.

There lies a challenge to develop a technique of effectively establishing a direct communication link between client devices in a communication network. In some implementations, an associated STA is a client device which is associated with a particular access point (AP). A non-associated STA is a client device which is not associated with the AP. A tunneled probe request may be transmitted by an associated STA through the AP to be broadcast to other associated STAs. In some implementations, an active scan may be combined with a tunneled probe request in order to establish a communication link between an associated STA and a non-associated STA.

Technologies for location-dependent wireless speaker configuration include a mobile computing device wirelessly coupled to a plurality of speakers. The mobile computing device is configured to determine a location of and assign a location indicator to each of the speakers based on the determined locations. The location indicator identifies a location of each speaker relative to the other speakers such that the mobile computing device can generate an audio stream for each of the speakers based on the assigned location indicator and transmit each of the generated audio streams to a corresponding one of the speakers. Other embodiments are described and claimed herein.

Technologies for location-dependent wireless speaker configuration

This disclosure describes techniques that can improve the generation of a decomposed multi-stream (DMS) by a host device of a video display system and the display of a DMS by a client device of the video display system. The techniques may apply different frame rates to different streams within a DMS, and the frame rates may depend on the content. For example, one stream within a DMS may comprise a sequence of full-motion video information, which may be rendered at a relatively high frame rate. However, another stream within the DMS may be associated with a background of the display, various graphic user interface control windows or elements, or a display window that includes non-video content (such as e-mail or a document). The second stream in the DMS may be rendered at a much slower frame rate than that used for the sequence of full-motion video information.

Decomposed multi-stream (DMS) techniques for video display systems

Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, devices, systems and methods of channel switching. For example, a video source device may include a radio to establish a peer to peer (P2P) connection over a first wireless communication channel between the video source device and a video sink, the P2P connection to stream from the video source device to the video sink content to be displayed on a display device, and to receive from the video sink a message including type information indicating a type of the display device; and a controller to initiate, based on the type of the display device, a channel switch procedure to switch the P2P connection from the first wireless communication channel to a second wireless communication channel.

Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, devices, systems and methods of channel switching. For example, a Peer to Peer (P2P) client device may include a radio to transmit a request to a P2P Group Owner (GO) via a first wireless communication channel, the request including a request to switch to a second wireless communication channel, the radio to receive from the P2P GO a response in response to the request; and a controller to, based on the response, switch the radio to the second wireless communication channel to communicate with the P2P GO.

Low-power transmitter and/or receiver devices are provided by sacrificing time and/or frequency diversity in exchange for lower power consumption. When channel conditions indicate that time and/or frequency spreading are unnecessary for transmissions, a transmitter may enter into a power-conservation mode in which transmissions are performed using a time gating scheme or a time repetition scheme. In the time gating scheme, symbols are transmitting just once, rather than a plurality of times, but with increased transmission power. In the time repetition scheme, copies of the same symbol are transmitted a plurality of times on the same frequency on different symbol transmission periods, instead of being retransmitted on different frequencies on different symbol transmission periods. Consequently, the symbol can be generated once and stored for subsequent retransmission, thereby allowing some of the transmitter/receiver chain components can be operated at a lower duty cycle or processing speed to conserve power.

In one aspect, the presently claimed invention includes a system and/or method that is configured for broadcasting a first multicast MAC address by a first host to at least one first client in a predetermined geographic area and broadcasting the first multicast MAC address by a second host to at least one second client in the predetermined geographic area. The system and/or method can be further configured for determining a priority between the first host and the second host when the second host receives multicast packets transmitted by the first host and changing to a second multicast MAC address by a least priority host of the first host and the second host.

System and method for avoiding and resolving conflicts in a wireless mobile display digital interface multicast environment
